“Come on, come for me,” Canaan urged. “So close, Ren. Fuck, you’re so hot.”

Knowing he was getting Canaan off helped him to let go that much further, and he stroked himself faster, found the rhythm that matched Canaan’s, made those good feelings in his ass more intense until he finally got it. Flying. It wasn’t flying at all that Canaan did. It was freefall, those blissful moments before the chute carried him back to earth, and he embraced it, welcomed the feeling, coming hard, ass squeezing, the pressure there making him shoot harder.

“Coming. Fuck.” Canaan went hard and fast, no more rhythm, as he moaned through his own climax.

“It’s not flying,” he said as he tried to find his breath and his legs again.

“Sorry,” Withdrawing, Canaan dropped a kiss on his spine.

“No, not sorry. It’s freefall. So good. God, I wanna take you jumping.” He was babbling, but at least it made Canaan laugh.

“I’m game.” After taking care of the condom and wiping Renzo off with one of their towels, Canaan stretched out next to him, rubbing his back. “Fuck, you were incredible. Watching you let yourself go... Man. You make me wanna go again just thinking about it.”

Renzo took stock of his tight limbs and the not-unpleasant but still-there ache in his ass. “Maybe not right away...”

“Sleep over, and you can have me in the morning, however you want me.”

“I want you always.” Yawning, he pulled Canaan to him. “And yeah, I can sleep here. I don’t have to report in until Sunday.”

“Good. Sex. Coffee. Talking. In the morning.” Canaan wiggled around, ending up with Renzo’s chest as his pillow.

The talking part sounded ominous, but Renzo knew it needed to happen, and this time, he wasn’t going to run from it. Wasn’t going to try to control it, either. Freefall. Maybe he could just let go, let the future come to him for a change.

Chapter Twenty-Six

Canaan woke to Renzo doing sit-ups next to the bed, which told him two things. One, Renzo was nervous about the morning, and two, he probably wasn’t getting fucked before breakfast. But he did take a second to enjoy the view.

“You know if you posted naked workouts, your followers would probably quadruple. Hell, just allude to the fact that you do them.” Rolling to his stomach, he peered down at Renzo.

“I’m thinking of scaling back my social media, actually.”

“Because of me? It seriously doesn’t bother me in the slightest, having a hot boyfriend with a selfie-obsession.”

“Nah. Because of me. I’m not all about that right now. Guess maybe I need the attention a lot less? I haven’t even checked my number of likes in weeks.”

“Well, you should keep on doing the workouts though—I know that’s important to you. And you find it fun. And leave the profiles up unless you think you should take them down for military reasons. Like Maureen said, you’ve inspired a lot of people to get healthier.”

“Oh yeah. I’ll keep doing the workouts. I’m scheduled to work out later with my buddy, but I’d rather bring you, show you his course than try to film it.”

“Is that an invitation? And what are you doing working out at dawn if you’re doing it later?” Canaan shook his head at him.

“Yeah, it’s an invite, and sorry if I woke you up. I couldn’t stay asleep. Strange restless energy, and the carpet in here is better for working out than your living room rug.”

“It’s okay. Do you want coffee here or want to find some clothes and see what Grandpa’s got brewing?”

“I already did a cup in that pod thing you’ve got in your kitchenette. I’m good.” Renzo looked up at him expectantly, as if Canaan might have a firing squad at the ready.

“Dude. I’m not going to start in on life-goal planning before I’ve even pissed. You can chill.” Canaan’s laugh was halfway between frustration and amusement. As he headed to the bathroom, he added, “And yes, I want to see you work out. I meant it when I said we’d find a way to deal. I didn’t get you back just to kick you to the curb or something, so try relaxing.”

“Sorry.” Renzo gave him a sheepish grin.

After using the bathroom, Canaan took a super-fast shower to rinse off the remnants of the lube that had gotten everywhere. He’d gone a bit overboard, but it had been Renzo’s first time, and he’d wanted it to be good for him. God, just remembering the sounds Renzo had made, the way his body had become softer, more supple as he’d let go more and more had Canaan hard again. It had been the hottest thing Canaan had ever witnessed.

When he emerged from the bathroom, Renzo had dressed. “Change of plans. Your grandpa texted that he got fresh bagels this morning and that we should come by and get some. He probably wants to lecture me on breaking your heart, but I’m willing to risk it for a bagel.”
