“Shush.” My master talks into my ear. “She’s going to be fine, but she’s medicated and sleeping. You’ll see her again, I promise.”
I nod into his shoulder. “All right. Thank you, Master.”
I keep my head tucked against his chest all through the journey to his domicile, registering the hovercar, the light from the suns and the beautiful buildings gliding by.
Zandia is truly a magical planet.
This almost seems too good to be true.
It’s that suspicion–the notion that my being here is somehow related to my work in that lab and that something terrible is going to happen–that keeps me from relaxing into my master’s strong arms.
Daven
The human cuddles against me, almost like she’s trying to climb into my chest. She’s terrified and still shaky. It sends my protective instincts into overdrive.
Yet she’s already lied to me at least once. I saw her look away when we were talking, and I could tell she was hiding something.
Axe was right. I can’t trust her.
But what is she hiding? And why? I’ll find out. It’s my mission to find out.
I don’t mind applying a little gentle punishment to bring her to heel. Human females love it. It turns them on sexually and bonds them to their mate and master. I smile, remembering how her pupils widened and her whole body pulsed with desire when I merely tapped her pretty ass twice. Oh, she’s going to be fun to train. And discipline. And own, if only for a short time.
My cock strains against my breeches, and I will myself to calm down. Slow and steady with this one, I think.
She murmurs in her sleep and shifts, and the gown slides off her shoulder, revealing perfect skin and the swell of a perfect breast. Slow and steady.
“But not too slow,” I whisper. Veck, it’s all I can do to keep myself from ravaging her right here, right now.
Chapter Four
Sia
I spend a comfortable night with my new master in which he makes no demands of me. He shows me how to use the incredible and fancy washtube, gives me wonderfully soft and comfortable clothing, and has food brought to his domicile for me.
The next planet rotation, I’m taken to a memory session with Dr. Daneth. Although he’s done nothing but help my wounds, he scares me. He’s too smart. I feel like he knows I’m lying about something.
His assistant, Bayla, smiles. “Sia, lean back in the hoverchair and try to relax. We’ll just ask you some questions and see if you can remember anything. Yes?”
I nod. I like Bayla. Human like myself, she’s apparently mated to the doctor and holds a position of prominence on the planet with much freedom and acclaim. Furthermore, she seems blissfully happy. I think about Daven and how different it is with us. He’s made it clear that we’re only together to help me regain memory and because he’s my appointed master–nothing more. Once he gets what he wants from me, I’ll be released to another master.
“Sia. So far you’ve told us that you’re a tech worker and a slave on Ocretia.” The doctor’s voice is low and even.
I glance around the med bay, which is clean and sterile, yet not unwelcoming. Low cabinets line the walls, and there’s a large window through which afternoon light streams. My cushioned seat is comfortable and plush although my body is still tense with worry.
“Yes. That’s right.” My heart pounds.
“I’m going to ask you questions, and you try to answer as quickly as you can.”
I nod.
“Bayla will fasten this band on your wrist. It won’t hurt. It’s just going to record your vitals while we talk.”
I nod again. A lie detector. My heart sinks. I take a breath and figure I’ll do my best.
He asks a series of queries: What do I eat daily? Where do I sleep? These are easy, and I start to relax. These I can answer truthfully.
Then it gets harder in the sense that I’m back in that gray area of what to tell and what not to tell.
“What kind of work do you do?”
I start with my previous tasks. “I was assigned to a lab where I assisted chemists with experiments. Basically I organized beakers and cleaned them and took notes on a holo device regarding ratios.” I tap my fingers together, inserting the nails of one hand under the nailbeds of the other. “Yeah.”
He and Bayla look at each other. The device on my wrist flashes.
“And? What then?”
I bite my lip. “More of the same. Then, I ah, was placed in a new position.” I feel a bead of sweat start to tickle at the back of my neck, right at the hairline.
“Alpha 2. Daven told us your memories from earlier.”
I nod for probably too long. “Yes, but I can’t–I don’t remember what I did there.”
I look at him and Bayla, trying to appear innocent. I widen my eyes in case that helps. “It’s, ah, not really coming back yet. Just flashes.” If I mix in bits of truth, will that seem more legitimate?
