Her body goes taut as her insides spasm on my cock, milking me until I shoot rope after rope of cum deep into her womb. I didn’t even think about protection, and as soon as the thought hits me, I don’t even try to pull out. If anything, I hold myself deep inside her until there’s nothing left.

We’re both panting, and when we’re spent, I hover over top of her as I try to catch my breath. I start to lift off her, but she hooks her feet behind me. I lean down and kiss her insecurities away. “I’m just going to get us cleaned up. I’m not leaving.”

She measures me with a look and unlocks her ankles. I slowly rise out of her, watching her face twist in discomfort. I took her too hard, too fast.

Without thinking twice, I lift her from the bed, and she squeals. “What are you doing?”

“We’re going to take a shower, then we’re going to sleep for a few days. What do you think?”

She stands next to me as I turn the hot water on in the shower. Her voice is soft as she asks me, “Together? We’re going to sleep together?”

I kiss the top of her head. “Yeah, honey. Together.”

She nods and smiles. It’s good to see her smile because I know there hasn’t been a lot to smile about the last few days.

I help her into the shower and watch her as she washes herself. I try to keep my hands to myself, but already, I want to have her again. When she winces as she slides the cloth between her legs, I tell myself she’s off limits. No more tonight. Surely, I can stick to that plan.

Isabella

I stretch before I even open my eyes, and a groan escapes me because there are muscles hurting that I didn’t even know I had. With a satisfied smile, I curl back into the bed and sigh happily. I may be sore, but it’s a good sore.

It’s only when I reach across the bed and find it cold that I peel my eyes open and see that Lucas is not in the bed next to me. I lift my head, and the clock on the nightstand reads 8 a.m. I groan because we just went to sleep at five this morning. And that was after the third time that Lucas and I had sex. We were both exhausted, and there’s no way he should even be able to stand up at this point.

I throw the covers off myself and look down at my body. There are tiny bruises along my hips and arms. Red marks on my thighs and on my breasts. I smile as I remember how I got each and every mark. Already there’s a pull in my lower belly because I want him again.

I climb out of bed even though my legs scream at me. I grab the nearest T-shirt that happens to be Lucas’ and pull it over my head. I go to the restroom, brush my teeth, and then decide to go through the house to try and find my husband.

I don’t worry about pants because Lucas gave Bridget the rest of the week off, and it’s only us. I look in his office first, but he’s not in there. I hear noises in the kitchen, and I walk that way with a smile on my face.

As soon as I walk through the door and see Lucas hugging his assistant Kelly, my stomach drops. They’re in a long embrace and only let go once they hear me step farther into the room. “Hey,” I say with my eyes trained on Lucas.

But he’s not looking at me. He doesn’t even lift his eyes at me once. Without him saying a word, I know he regrets last night.

“Hey,” Kelly says. When she sees the hurt look on my face, she smiles even bigger.

“I have to go to Vegas. There’s a company pulling Blaze Whiskey from their shelves. They’re one of our biggest suppliers, and I need to go take care of it.” He blurts it all out in a ramble, and I take a step toward him, but he turns to go around the other side of the island. I ignore the smug look Kelly gives me and try to get his attention. I wait for him to hug me, to kiss me goodbye... anything. But he does none of those things. Hell, he doesn’t even spare me a glance.

He’s walking toward the door of the kitchen, and I know I have nothing to lose. “Lucas.”

He at least stops. I wait, and he finally turns around. He gives me one look, his gaze travels down my body, he winces, and then his eyes fall to the floor. “What is it, Isabella?”

I choke back the sob that is threatening to escape. “What about us? You and me, Lucas?”
