I kissed his collarbone, lips skating over his chilled flesh. “That’s always been my experience.”

“In a lot of ways, your father made the Rogues better. He made it so no one under twenty-five could join. He set up the flag system, and he kicked the worst of the worst out of the organization.” He tipped his head. “Problem is he did that by bribery, blackmail, crippling businesses, and a bunch of other things that forced every Rogue to obey him. They hate him as much as they love him.”

“That’s been my experience too.” We chuckled. It was short, sharp, and over as soon as it started.

“Okay,” I whispered. “I know what I have to do.”

Sitting up, I pulled out my phone. Alistair answered on the third ring.

“Luna? Is everything okay?”

“Everything’s fine. I was just thinking...” I looked away from Wilder. “Our dinner was ruined last night. Up for giving it another try?”

“Of course. Don’t even have to ask,” he replied. “Although, fair warning. My sweet niece has informed me in no uncertain terms that she’ll kick your ass if you set foot on the property again.”

My lips peeled back from my teeth. Cousin or not, I would never like that wench. “Tell her to bring it on.”

“I’ll do no such thing,” he replied. “You free now? I’ll send Ronin to pick you up.”

“Sounds good to me.”

“Perfect. See you soon. Love you.”

My heart squeezed. “I love you too.”

Click.

I lowered the phone, meeting Wilder’s eyes. “Tonight,” I rasped. “I’ll do it tonight.”

“I’m sorry, Luna.”

I bent and kissed him slow. “Take my mind off it?”

“I thought you’d never ask.”

Wilder tugged me down, matching the slow, gentle pace we created. I sank into his kiss—all traces of duplicitous brothers, scheming enemies, and disappointed fathers fleeing my mind.

Gentle, calloused fingers slipped under my shirt, tracing my bra’s underwire like he was asking for permission. An impossible thought because Wilder didn’t need permission in bed.

It wasn’t that he was rough or demanding. He was simply so confident in what I wanted and how to please me he already had his head between my legs before the thought entered my mind that I wanted him to lick my pussy.

Wilder followed the lace around and freed me one-handed. Impressive. I couldn’t even unhook my bra with one hand.

“How many bras did you practice on to perfect that?” I whispered.

He nipped my bottom lip. “If we’re counting the bras on the women I’ve loved... only one.”

I couldn’t stop myself cheesing. “Good answer, O’Rourke.”

Wilder tugged my shirt over my head and dropped it on the porch. My bra followed.

“Damn, Sinclair.” Wilder flattened his palms against my stomach and rolled down, taking my pants with him. “Every time I look at you, my heart stops. Why are you so fucking beautiful?”

I ducked my head. For all that I’d done since the Rogues came into my life, I was not as confident as them. My whole life, people praised my prettier sister or got into accidents checking out my mom while she jogged through our old neighborhood. I was the one whose bits of my mom and dad didn’t mix together to create a stunningly beautiful kid like Winter.

“You know I mean that, don’t you?”

I blinked, startled. I forgot Wilder could do that. Read my every thought like it was written on my face.

“You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen or will see. It still amazes me that you chose us. No one on this planet would disagree that you could do better.”

My fingers teased his lips. “Everyone on the planet would be wrong. I walk around Regalia, and all I see is backstabbing, fake friends, hidden relationships, lies, and deceit. Regular boyfriends would’ve bowed out of my shit by now—going back to normal lives of climbing the ladder. But you,” I said softly. “You’re here with me through everything—calling me beautiful even though I’m a puffy-eyed mess. I can’t do better than that.”

“I’ll never be good enough for you,” he said, smiling. “But I’m too selfish not to take advantage of the fact that you think I am.”

Our lips connected in an explosion of fireworks. My whole body was alive with the touch of him. His hand trailing up my thigh. His chest warm and hard against me. His tongue tangling mine into submission.

I reached between us and helped myself to his zipper. This was only our second time together, and unlike his uncanny mind-reading abilities, I was still learning what he liked and how he wanted it.

I loved that. I loved that there was still so much more to learn about my guys, twice as much in Wilder’s case.

Even so, I saw a life with us learning, laughing, loving each other until we were old and gray, and I would have that life. Everleigh and Wolfgang would not take it from us.
