“That’s really beautiful.”

He gave me a sideways smile. “There’s something I want to show you; my absolute favorite place. The path gets a little rough and I don’t want you to slip and get hurt, so may I carry you?”

“Sure.” Talon knelt down to allow me to climb onto his back. I locked my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck, resting my chin on his shoulder. He veered from the dirt path into tall grass and eventually rocks. “Do I hear water?”

“Yep. We’re getting close.” I was glad to be on his back when the rocks became steeper. He kept a strong hand on each of my knees and I trusted him to keep me safe.

As we descended the slope, the sound of rushing water grew more intense. When we turned a corner and stepped down onto flat ground, I found the source of the noise; not only was there a bubbling stream before us, a waterfall dumped into it. It wasn’t exceedingly tall or strong, but it was beautiful and tranquil; the gentle splash of the water instantly soothed me.

“I can see why you like it here,” I told Talon as he set me on the ground, making sure I had stable footing. I blinked when he whipped his shirt off over his head. “What are you doing?”

“Swimming,” he answered with a smile. “Will you join me?”

I didn’t say a word; instead I stared slack-jawed as he stripped off every article of clothing and tossed them onto the rocky bank. When he held out his hand in invitation, I asked, “Is the water deep?”

“Less than four feet in the center.” He slowly backed into the creek and smiled when I kicked off my shoes. I took a thorough look around before I shucked my sweater and Talon’s t-shirt. “It’s just us, sweetheart,” he promised, so I dropped my pants and underwear, and folded my glasses on top.

I dipped my toe in the water and a shiver travelled up my spine. “It’s freezing!”

“It feels great once you’re all the way in,” Talon insisted, crooking his finger.

I made it as deep as my ankles before deciding that it was far enough, and that Talon was crazy for continuing to wade in up past his navel. But then came a sight so beautiful that it distracted my mind from the frigid sting.

Talon stepped beneath the cascade and water trickled down his perfect body, sluicing over his mounded muscles. He combed his soaked hair away from his face and blew droplets from his pursed lips.

My body moved forward without instruction, drawn to Talon's form like a magnet. When I was only a couple of feet away, his eyes opened and a smile stretched across his lips when he saw that I was near. He reached out and grabbed my waist, and pulled me beneath the waterfall with him.

Talon kissed me deeply as water trickled down my face and splashed over my shoulders. My fingers glided over his slick skin, tracing along each divot of his strong chest. His hands explored too, gripping my ass and pulling me against him. I groaned when my thickening cock brushed his thigh.

Talon pulled his lips from mine, allowing more water to slide down my forehead as he kissed my cheek and nibbled my ear lobe. His voice was husky when he whispered, "I want you."

I nodded quickly; I didn't care if I was sore. I didn't need to walk; Talon could carry me across the stage when I graduated in a few days as far as I was concerned. Worth it.

"But first, we need to have that talk." Oh. Right. I'd gotten so worked up over Talon's sexy, drenched body that I forgot why we came out here in the first place.

He led me out of the water and onto the bank, to a large, flat rock. Talon helped me sit down and knelt in front of me. "There's something you need to know about me. I've been trying to find the right way to begin this conversation, but I think it's best if I just show you."

My mind raced as it searched for explanations. The possibilities were endless, but I loved and trusted Talon. Whatever it was, we could get through it.

"Close your eyes." I let my eyelids drift shut and he kissed each of them gently.

Talon

I stepped back and took a deep breath before I relaxed into a shift. My bones snapped as my spine arched and my hands widened into thick paws. My skull stretched and my snout elongated. Fur sprouted from every pore until I was covered in a thick coat, including my tail and magnificent mane.

I padded up to Brandon and gently nudged his knee with my nose. I was expecting shock or questions...not the look of fear and panic when he opened his eyes.
