“Then we better get home,” I say, lifting myself up and slipping back into my seat, but not before he grunts out his appreciation of my ass as it gets in his face, pressing his lips against it.

“I couldn’t agree more,” he responds, helping me right myself. “Buckle up, Casey.” He cocks his strong brow at me, sending my body into a heated mess and aching beyond belief. None of my behavior made any sense to me because I’m usually the sweet, quiet girl. But I guess they say…it’s always the quiet ones.

“I’m ready,” I chime out, eager to see every manly inch of him. Well, if the main event is anything like the preview, I’m in for one helluva first time. I can’t believe how anxious I am to let Owen possess me.

The rest of our drive to his place is a silent one, but the air is so thick that another word doesn’t have to be uttered. We pull up to a residential neighborhood, but I have no idea where I am. Then he drives into a large garage.

“We’re home,” he says with a smile. I’m so anxious that my stomach has an entire butterfly exhibit inside. “Changing your mind.”

“Not one bit.” I may be nervous, but that’s the truth. I want him uncontrollably. I hop out on my side as he does the same. He meets me around the front of the car and takes my hand, leading me inside his house.

“Do you live here by yourself?” I question.

He nods as he flicks on the lights. “Yes, my parents live in the suburbs. They moved there two years ago.”

“Nice,” I say, looking around the room wondering if maybe I bit off more than I can chew. He’s much older, settled, and successful which is the exact opposite of me. Then as he turns his body to face mine, I see a hint of concern in his eyes.

“Take off your coat. Stay a while.” I do as he says, sliding my zipper down and opening it slowly as he watches. My eyes pay attention to the way he admires my movements. I have a cute, white V-neck tee that hugs my body perfectly. With the coat on, I looked kind of bulky, but as I slipped it off, my curves are on display.

With a gulp, he asks, “Do you want a drink?”

“Do you have any wine or something?” I ask. I need something to steady my nerves. It’s not that I don’t want to be impaled by him, but I’m still a virgin. I know what desire is and what the end result should be especially with a man like Owen, so I’m craving it now more than ever.

“I think I have some Bacardi. It was given to me from one of my clients after I finished their project.”

“As long as you didn’t bang the client.” I cock a brow at him because as much as I know, he has a past. I don’t want to be a part of it, including bitches he probably built homes for. It’s silly, but I’m still an inexperienced, young woman with feelings who’s been duped before.

“Don’t worry, baby. I haven’t banged anyone since I started my company. It’s hard to be successful when you’re distracted. I didn’t need that.”

“So you’re okay with being distracted with me for a week?”

He freezes and utters, “I wouldn’t put it that way.”

“No? What would you call it? A one-night stand.”

Owen flinches like I smacked him. Shaking his head and grumbling, he boldly states, “Hell no. Definitely not a one-night stand, but I’ll let you know in twenty years.”

I get his meaning, but I don’t buy the sincerity. I don’t need him to promise forever—just tonight. “Twenty years? What makes you think I’ll know you in twenty years?”

“Because once you’re mine, I have no intentions of letting you go.”

“You don’t have to sweet talk me, Owen. I want you to spread me wide without feeling obligated. No strings attached.” Even as I utter the words, I know they’re a lie, but for now, it’s the most rational thought in my head.

He stiffens and backs away from me with a grimace. “Honey, there are strings attached, or we don’t go an inch further. I’m serious. Let me get us our drinks.” Suddenly I’m left alone in the living room. I look around the room, feeling like his mother must have decorated this place. It has that at home type feel. Sitting down on the sofa, I tuck my hands between my thighs as I wait for him to return.

He returns and hands me a drink. “Try this. Let me know if it tastes okay. I’m not a mixologist or anything. I’m a beer guy.” I could smell the Bacardi before I even have it to my lips. Shit, it’s strong. I take one sip and set it down.
