When she started to move, he grabbed her around the waist and stopped her. He was panting. “Give Daddy a second and I’ll clean you up, Pumpkin.”

She leaned over and kissed him briefly. “How about if I clean you up this time?”

Before he could protest, she was out of bed and padding into the bathroom. He didn’t like this role reversal, but he was breathing too heavily to fight her.

When she returned, she climbed onto her knees next to him, removed the condom, and wiped his semi-hard cock with a wet cloth.

He slid a hand up and down her back, smiling at her. “That feels nice, Pumpkin.”

She beamed, looking incredibly pleased with herself. “Good. Little girls can help their Daddies sometimes too, you know.”

He smiled, still trying to catch his breath.

When she was done, she leaned over and kissed him again. “I’ll make you coffee, Daddy.”

He furrowed his brow and looked at her. “I can do it, Pumpkin. Just give me a few minutes.” He wanted to get up, but damn, he was so tired still.

CC didn’t respond, but she sat next to him stroking his arm lightly. She pulled the covers over him too. Why wasn’t she climbing in next to him?

He was too tired to ask.

The scent of coffee woke Hunter from a deep sleep. For a moment, he thought he was in one of the rooms off the ER where he sometimes took a nap during a long shift.

However, when he blinked his eyes open, he found CC next to him. He was in her house, in her bed. He frowned. The room was bright. She was no longer naked. She was dressed in leggings and a cute pink T-shirt that said Daddy’s Girl on the front. Her hair was in high pigtails.

She’d dressed herself and fixed her own hair. How long have I been asleep?

“I made you coffee, Daddy,” she announced. “I didn’t want to wake you though.” She chewed on her bottom lip adorably, her brow furrowed in concern.

He groaned as he stretched out, his muscles protesting the movement. “What time is it?”

“Noon.”

His eyes shot open wide. “Noon?”

She nodded, giggling. “You worked too hard all week. You were tired. You needed your sleep.”

He’d never slept until noon. Or he couldn’t remember when in his past he might have anyway. Guilt crept in as he reached for her cheek and stroked her with his thumb. “I’m sorry I slept so long, Pumpkin.”

She shook her head. “Don’t be sorry.”

He frowned. “You had to get dressed all by yourself.”

She giggled and shrugged. “I made myself breakfast too. I knew you would want me to have a Little-space day, so I only had cereal. I didn’t use the stove or oven. I even put my juice in a sippy cup so I wouldn’t spill it. And I kept the volume of the television down so my cartoons wouldn’t wake you up,” she announced with pride.

He pushed to sitting and pulled her into his lap. He rained kisses all over her face before tickling her and making her giggle. “What a good girl.”

It still bothered him that he’d slept half the day away. He’d meant to spend that time with CC, making plans for the future and discussing when she might move into his house. That had been on his mental agenda. Not sleeping until noon.

“Why are you frowning, Daddy? Did I do something wrong?” Her lip trembled.

“Not at all, Pumpkin. You did everything right. I’m just trying to wrap my head around the fact that I missed half of our day off together and left you to your own devices.”

She cupped his face and sat straighter in his lap. “It’s all right, Daddy. We still have the rest of the day. Sometimes Daddies get tired too. You took care of me earlier in the week. You haven’t been getting enough sleep. That’s my fault. I feel bad that you’re always doing things for me and I never do things for you.”

He nuzzled her nose with his. “I guess sometimes even Daddies get run down if they don’t get enough sleep.”

She nodded.

“And you do lots of things for me, Pumpkin. You make me happy just by existing. Agreeing to be my Little girl fills my soul to overflowing. There are no words to describe how happy I’ve been since I met you. Thank you for being such a good girl this morning and for making Daddy coffee.”

He glanced at the nightstand where the steaming cup sat. “I hope you didn’t burn yourself. Did you carry it with both hands?”

She nodded, her expression serious. “I was very careful, Daddy. I walked slowly and didn’t let it slosh.”

“Good girl.” He slid her to one side and reached for the mug, inhaling the scent before taking a few sips. “Delicious. I feel amazing after all that sleep. How about if I take a shower and we head over to my house.”
