I grip the bottle tighter, more than prepared to launch it at his head as his brother grips me tightly, refusing to allow me to move away. “Is this your version of an apology?” I growl, the rollercoaster of emotions becoming too much for me to handle.
Roman scoffs. “You need to remember who you’re talking to. We don’t apologize. We get even. Everything we do is done with purpose.”
I stare at him blankly, his arrogance quickly making me wish for the knife I left down in my creeptastic dungeon. “So, chasing me through an overgrown, creepy-as-fuck maze in the middle of the night is your version of getting even?”
He doesn’t respond, just simply raises a thick brow that has him looking nothing short of a nightmare.
“Pray tell,” I grumble. “What the hell did I do that warranted your sick need to get even?”
Roman stands, hovering over me for just a moment as his wolf stands with him, the both of them appearing like a scene out of a movie that no woman should ever have to sit through. “What haven’t you done?” he questions. “I’m only just getting started.”
He turns and walks out of the room, his wolf practically strutting behind him and leaving me fearing what else he could possibly do to me. Though, something tells me that when a man like Roman DeAngelis plans on getting even, creativity is his greatest tool.
Just when I think Marcus will release his hold on me, Levi pushes off the couch directly opposite us and saunters across the room, his tumbler still in his hand. He takes a sip and by the time his glass is lowering from his mouth, he stands right in front of me, exactly where his eldest brother had been only a second ago.
“He’s right. We don’t apologize for shit. Everything we do is done for a reason,” Levi rumbles, his dark, secretive eyes boring into mine as the tension quickly builds between us. As if sensing the change in the room, Marcus pulls back on me, dragging me back a step, already knowing exactly what his brother is coming for.
“So, the night you were hiding in my closet, watching me get off? There was a reason behind that?” I question, trying to push against Marcus’ hold as his brother steps with us, keeping himself right in front of me.
Levi winks and everything south of the border clenches. I’m completely captivated.
Levi’s fingers dip into his tumbler and he pulls out a perfectly round piece of ice and my gaze instantly drops to it. “Call it character building,” he murmurs, his voice lower than I’ve ever heard it.
A possessive growl rumbles through Marcus’ chest and I feel the vibrations deep in my back, but all that does is have Levi’s hard stare flicking up to his brother. “You know the rules, brother,” he mutters darkly. “Either share your toys, or I’ll take them from you.”
A short, tension-filled moment passes between them, and after a beat, Marcus’ grip on my waist begins to ease, though something tells me that he’s not going anywhere. The anticipation builds within me as I clench my thighs, too excited for my own good.
Any other girl would be running, but damn. If that night with Marcus is anything to go by, then I won’t be going anywhere.
Levi’s heated gaze sweeps over my body as Marcus’ hands at my waist rise to the plunging neckline of my dress. He tears the fabric right down the center until I’m completely bare between them, and as Levi’s stare meets mine, the tension in the room dissipates, and all that’s left is his body moving in closer to mine, the ice slowly melting between his warm fingers.
The bottle of bourbon is taken from me and carelessly thrown to the couch as Marcus’ fingers trail up and down my skin, leaving goosebumps in their wake. My nipples pebble, and as I take a deep breath in and my chest rises, the sensitive peaks brush against the front of Levi’s shirt.
I track his every movement as I press my legs together, desperate to relieve the ache that’s burning deep within me. Levi’s hand raises and he holds the ice between his fingers, slowly letting the cold water drip onto my shoulder before gently pressing it to my skin.
Marcus’ fingers tighten on my body and I sense the excitement radiating off him in waves as I quickly come to terms with the fact that, no matter what they want to do to me right now, I’m going to let them. Screw every last moral that was drilled into me as a kid, screw knowing the difference between right and wrong. I want this, and I’m not about to do anything to screw it up.
Levi trails the ice down over my shoulder and around the curve of my breast before slowly circling my sensitive nipple. I suck in a gasp and tip my head back to Marcus’ shoulder as I raise my eyes, watching the way that Levi focuses on the small piece of ice that’s causing havoc to my body.
