“You are serious?” Adres yawned.

“Yes. You see how tired you are. That means you need a vacation. Our people are safe. The bloodmobiles will be rolling out next week. It’s the perfect time to get away before we have to plan the next drive. I bet Wick and Justice are doing the same. Hell, I’m sure all of my siblings are going to take some time away with their mates to enjoy the peacetime. To celebrate.”

Adres dropped his head to Macauley’s shoulder. He was quiet for so long that he thought Adres had ignored his request and was falling into a slumber when he mumbled quietly, “All right. Let us try a… vacation.”

Macauley wanted to leap off the sofa, but he was too worn-out to move, so he sent his cheer towards his mate, earning himself another grin that made his body warm. “I haven’t ventured very far from the White Mountains, except the one time I went to the Dales. Where will we go?”

“Anywhere you would like, beloved.”

Macauley snapped his fingers as if he’d just remembered the perfect place. “How about Las Vegas, oh, or Hollywood?”

“It appears I spoke too soon.” Adres sat up slowly, his eyes narrowing as if Macauley had lost his damn mind. “You call those vacation selections?”

“I am not getting on a plane, Adres,” he growled, “so Paris is out.”

“That is fine, but I am not going to Hollywood. No one goes to Hollywood on their own accord. People in Hollywood don’t want to be in—”

“Okay, okay, I got it.” Macauley placed his fingertips over Adres’s lips. “Do you have a place in mind since you’re so well-traveled?”

“Actually, I do.”

Gods, Macauley could converse with this man for the rest of his days and never grow tired of hearing his voice. “Well, don’t keep me in suspense, handsome. Tell me.”

“The Monstrous Reef and beyond.”

Macauley sat forward, radiating with renewed energy. “Are you serious? We can go to the fairy lands?”

“You…”—Adres stroked his thumb over Macauley’s jaw— “they would devour.”

“Me? I thought it was forbidden to go there without just cause.”

“Those not welcome will surely find themselves at the bottom of the reef.” Adres cringed. “And it’s called monstrous for a reason.”

Macauley frowned. “This isn’t sounding like paradise.”

“But you can also bring them a gift, and if it is accepted, they will open the doors to their enchanted world.”

“You have a gift for them?”

Adres’s grin was sexy and slightly worrisome. “I do. I have you, young wolf. And all of your goodness. I brought them an omega centuries ago… and now I have a Volkov alpha. The righteous one.” Adres straddled his lap. “They won’t be able to keep their hands off of you.”

Macauley spread his legs and closed his eyes as Adres fed him images of a lush tropical paradise with crystal-clear lakes covered in lotus flowers, visions of them making love on a bed of white sand that shimmered like diamonds, and beautiful iridescent men and women bathing him in the fountain of youth. Massaging his weary body… grooming his wolf. “Oh yeah. Mmm. I think this will work.”

Adres yanked out of his mind, leaving him feeling cheated as if he’d stolen his orgasm at the last second. “Then let’s get packed. I never thought I would be able to return after I left Orion there. Now, I must say… I’m blessed to be able to return with you, my beloved.”

Macauley took Adres’s hand and led them upstairs to the bedroom of their home. As they packed their luggage, he brainstormed building his mate a new home fit for a Titan.
