“Hey, no! Stop.” He grabbed her, pulling her onto his lap as he sat on the edge of the bed.
He was dressed just in boxers, while she only wore his shirt.
She pressed her face into his chest, breathing him in. “I wasn’t thinking.”
He sighed. “And I was partly using that as an excuse. The main reason I don’t want to go back is because of Dante. He didn’t come to the wedding.”
“He was shot,” she blurted out.
“What?”
“He was shot, Papi. That’s why he didn’t come. Although I think there’s probably more I don’t know, it was a drive-by. Rafael said they never caught who did it.”
“What the fuck? Rafael told you, but not me? Why didn’t Ortega tell me?”
“I don’t know. I guess Dante asked him not to.”
“Motherfucking bastard. He should have told me.”
“Perhaps he tried. You were pretty abrupt, Papi.”
“Or maybe he didn’t want me coming down there,” he mused.
“He said it’s okay for us to go now.”
He was silent for a long moment. “All right. Yes. We’ll leave in a few weeks once I arrange things.”
“Really?” She gaped at him.
“Really.” He rolled her under him. “But you, mi Pequeña mocosa, you’re going to be punished for going behind my back.”
“Are you going to spank me, Papi?” She’d take it if it meant he and Dante could mend their relationship.
“Oh no, nothing as simple as that. You’re going to give me a day of full control.”
“Full control?”
She wasn’t concerned about him harming her. She had some boundaries she knew he wouldn’t cross. He’d never humiliate her.
But she’d never given him total control.
“Like . . .”
“A bit like your very Little days, except you will cede everything to me.”
“Oh, hell. Are you sure you don’t want to spank me instead?”
“I’m sure. I’ll choose your clothes, what you eat, where you go. I’ll take you to the bathroom if I want, wash you, shave you, play with you, spank you, fuck you. Whatever I want to do to you.”
It sounded like the worst punishment.
And the best.
Because she had a feeling that she might like it.
“Now?”
“No. I think we’ll do it during our honeymoon, when there are less likely to be interruptions.”
“But that would be rude when we’re staying with your cousin,” she pointed out.
“I have a whole wing of his house. Don’t worry, we’ll have all the privacy we require.”
Oh. Hell.

Cat was both exhausted and wired as they pulled up to a large pair of manned gates. The guards at the gates had rifles. One of them approached, while two others kept watch on both their car and the one behind them which held Mikey, Gage, and Doomy Gloomy.
Cairn was driving their car while The Scot was riding shot-gun.
Rafael had stayed behind. It wasn’t safe for him to come. And Reuben was running everything while they were gone.
Before they’d left, Alejandro had sent Tobias and Nico to look after Maeve and the others in Tennessee. It turned out that Maeve had a stalker she hadn’t told anyone about. And to get away from him, she’d traveled across the country to the others in Tennessee.
Cat was so worried about her that she’d barely been able to eat. Or sleep. She’d wanted to postpone their honeymoon, but the others had talked her out of it.
Alejandro wasn’t putting up with her not eating or sleeping, of course, so he’d started feeding her to ensure she ate. And he’d been making her lie down for naps every afternoon.
Cat wasn’t complaining.
“This is where Dante lives?” she asked in a quiet whisper, as they wound their way through the gates and toward a huge double-story house.
Well, mansion.
“There’s more than one house on the property. His mother lives with her new husband and his daughter in another house. I have one wing of the main house, and Ortega has the other. Then there is the housing for his men.”
It was super impressive.
And intimidating.
They came up to the big house. It was bright white with a terracotta tile roof. A wide porch wrapped around it. The car stopped and The Scot got out to open Alejandro’s door. He undid her seatbelt, then slid over and held out his hand to her.
She wore a long, flowing white and blue dress. The heat hit her hard, and she swayed, feeling completely done in.
“Not too much longer, Preciosa. Then I’ll put you to bed.”
“Bed? But it’s only seven here.”
“And nine at home. Nearly your bedtime.”
“But it’s our honeymoon. I don’t have a bedtime on our honeymoon.”
“Think again, Kitten. You always have a bedtime.”
What a meanie.
As they walked up the steps, a dark-haired man strode out to stand on the porch. The family resemblance was pretty striking. Although Dante wasn’t as handsome as Alejandro.
Or maybe she was just biased.
Nah. It wasn’t that.
Alejandro was just that hot. Like a dark fallen angel.
Dante was dressed in a white shirt and caramel-colored pants. Two younger men with dark hair and tattoos were with him but they left as she and Alejandro walked up the stairs.
