“This isn’t going to work. I wish that it could, but we’re not on vacation anymore. We had to come back to the real world, and sadly, there are restrictions in the real world. People judge others. It would harm our businesses,” I say, my voice quivering with each word.
I would love to submit to all four men. I would be their submissive, and them my loving dominants. In a fantasy world, that would be perfect…but this isn’t a fantasy.
I would need to adjust my life for them. My work schedules. Can I even do that and still run this business?
What the fuck am I thinking? Of course this is impossible.
Derek is the next to plead the case. I’m shaking. Why am I shaking?
“Julia, it’ll work. You need to give us a chance to prove that something like this is extraordinary. You don’t find something that we all have again. If you allow us to show you what we can offer you, I promise that you’ll be quite pleased,” Derek says, his English accent deepening.
My bottom lip quivers as he speaks. Not because I’m going to cry, but the emotions in this room are strong.
What should I do? What would you do?
Before I can speak, Killian positions himself next to my desk. He has those eyes that can bring a grown woman to their knees without even saying a word. I know that from experience.
“We—and I mean all of us—are never left wanting for something. We have money, power, fame, and we’ve each had all the women we could’ve wanted. But that’s not what we want now. It’s not what we need now. What we need is you,” Killian says.
I’m overwhelmed. I don’t even know how to deny these four men anything.
“It won’t work for us. We’re all just too complicated to make this work,” I whisper. “The real world—”
“Dude, for real? Shut up already. We can and will make this work. All of us want you. We’ll make it work no matter what. You’ll fucking see, alright?” Spencer says, finishing his water, he squishes the bottle and tosses it in the trashcan in the corner of the room.
The echo of the plastic hitting the bottle makes me jump. It’s hard not to be affected by everything the four of them have said. They’ve stated their case, and I feel as though I can’t breathe.
Not only am I soaking fucking wet, but my emotions are on a knife’s edge.
For the first time in my life, I don’t know what to do or how to react to what they have offered.
I adjust myself in my seat. I want to feel alive again, and the only way I know how is to hand them what they want.
Submit.
Call them Sir.
Bow to their needs.
What the fuck’s the matter with me? I’m not even rational at this point. I can’t believe I’m thinking about doing what they want of me.
“You’ve all told me what you think can happen, but none of you have listened to me. We can’t make this work. No one will respect me if we do. My business is important to me. I can’t give that up. I won’t,” I say.
“Who the fuck asked you to give up anything? Did any of us ask you to give up this business because we want you in our lives?” Xane growls, his voice raised.
I shake for a moment. I know how strong of a man he is. How dominating he can be when alone with him.
I’m not scared of him or any of them. I’m scared of how much I need them in my life now. I’ve become so dependent on the four of them that I don’t know if I can walk away and say this is over.
I know I don’t want that, but I also know it’s for the best.
Killian moves behind my chair. His hands move to my shoulders to massage away the tension.
I lean my head against the leather headrest, my eyes closing for a moment. My body is covered in chills, my chest won’t stop fluttering, and my panties are completely soaked through…
It’s hopeless. I can’t toss them out. They’ve got me—body, mind, and heart.
“Relax, Princess. We won’t ever let anything bad happen to you. I promise you that. With us, you can have anything and everything you’ve ever wanted,” Derek says, his voice soft and reassuring.
While my eyes stay closed, Xane moves in closer to the front of my desk. Even without seeing him, I know he’s there.
“Do you really want us to leave, Gem?” Xane asks.
I shake my head.
I don’t want them to leave. I can’t fight this feeling right now. It’s too hard.
“No, I don’t want any of you to leave.”
I know this is wrong, but I can’t fight the urge.
Can you blame me?
Chapter 37
Julia
They really do have so much to offer me. I don’t mean with money; that’s not important. At the rate I’m going without their help, I’m sure it would be around…ten years before I’m right where they are. But what kind of life would that be?
