I read over the assigned writing of my day's tasks. They appear easy enough. Before I can get too comfortable, though, I spot Adam standing at my door.
His imposing frame takes up the entire doorway. My heart beats a little faster at seeing him.
His dark hair is casually brushed off his face, but it's long enough still to hit his eyes. And what dark eyes they are. He's peering at me almost as though he's trying to see into the depth of my soul.
"You're in early," he says.
"I like to be on time," I look up at him, not knowing what else to say.
"Well, then that's good," he says. "Because today, we have a lot of work to do."
He tosses a list of names at me. I peruse the list and recognize some of them.
"These are potential clients, aren't they?" I ask.
"They are. We'd like you to go over them and to make a case for and against each client."
This job is going to be easy. I could recommend these clients in my sleep. I know the country’s political landscape like the back of my hand.
"And there's something else," he says. "We have a little something extra to add to the day’s work."
To my total consternation, he pulls out of his pocket a little vibrator. My eyes widen, and I can't hold back my shock.
"This is for you, a little present from Chase," he says with a little smirk. "We'd like you to wear it today while you work. You'll present your case for and against each client in front of all three of us, and we'll buzz you as much or as little as we'd like."
What is he talking about? Am I expected to wear this thing all day at work? I'm already in over my head.
But I won’t let them get to me.
"Okay," I say calmly as ever. "I can think of no better way to start the day."
"That's very good to hear," he says with a wicked smile on his face.
He turns and leaves me to my little chore. I wish I could shut the door and at least hide myself while I insert the vibrator, but like I said, there's no privacy up here. I'm on display.
I tentatively spread my legs and insert the vibrator between my garter belt. I have to shift my panties to the side to make it work, but it goes in smoothly.
I cross my legs and resume my normal composure.
I hope they didn't see me stick it in, but who knows what's happening in this place. There might be cameras everywhere for all I know, knowing the voyeurs that they are.
The vibrator feels good, actually. It's not like I don't know what it feels like to have something hard and smooth inside of me.
I log onto the computer and take note of its updated tech features. This is a nice change from serving drinks. This is where I was always meant to be.
I start with the list of names.
Cindy Williams. No. She's too conservative and has absolutely no knowledge of issues, she'll never make it.
The vibe goes off, and I jump. Fuck. I wasn't expecting that action so soon.
I wonder which one of the guys sent it. I bet they're each equipped with a button designed just for me.
Anyway, let's see: Andrew Harrison. He might deserve a shot.
His record at redefining homeless shelters is astounding. He really puts his money where his mouth is. And I think he'd make a great candidate because he speaks the truth.
I wait. No vibe on that one. It's like they're reading my mind or something.
I spend the rest of the morning reading over the names and making my essential notes. These guys are really lucky to have me, because I know exactly what I'm doing. The vibe occasionally goes off, but it's nothing I can't handle.
However, my deadline is looming. And soon, I will have to present this list and my opinions to Cameron, Adam, and Chase.
I finish my work and decide I need a little break just before my presentation. I call Tiffany on the intercom and ask her if she can please bring me a cappuccino, and to make it a triple shot.
My caffeinated courage has me ready to go, and I walk to Cameron's office. They were waiting for me, seated as they are on the couch.
They're looking at me expectantly, and they won't be disappointed.
"Hello, guys. I think you'll find my presentation of potential clients is worth considering."
"That's good to hear," Cameron says. "Because we’re anxious to know your… position on certain topics, shall we say."
I look at all three of them, sitting here in Cameron's intimidating office. They look like three gods sent from another planet. Every time I'm in a room with them, there's electricity in the air between all of us.
