“Hi, Daddy.” Uncle Cohen had a big phone so Daddy’s face was huge. “We had pizza.”
As Daddy gave us a big smile, Uncle Cohen hugged me tight. “Hello, pup. How is the ride so far?”
Daddy pretended to pout. “Well, I’m not getting pizza, so I’m going to have to say it’s only okay.”
Giggling, I leaned closer and pretended to whisper. “It was the thick kind where you have to be patient and patient and more patient. But we got it and ate so much.”
Groaning so loudly that even Uncle Cohen laughed, Daddy pouted. “Deep dish? You got deep dish without me?”
Uncle Cohen shrugged and pretended not to see the pout. “I might be talked into going again as long as you hurry back.”
Oh, he was going to bribe Daddy with pizza.
That was almost as good as naughty stuff that made Daddy grin.
He liked those bribes too.
“I’ll go too, Daddy.” More pizza. And more Daddy. “But you have to hurry like Uncle Cohen says.”
Daddy chuckled as he leaned back in his seat. “Is Uncle Cohen being good and helping you while I’m gone?”
Nodding, I pushed back sad thoughts about Daddy going and smiled. “He got me pizza and we’re going to watch cartoons and play, and then later later, not later tonight, we’re going to buy toys for his house.”
Rubbing my hands together, I gave Daddy an evil villain look like they got in the cartoons when they were greedy. “I get a playroom.”
Daddy laughed. “You look like you’re planning on taking over the world.”
“No, silly.” I gave him a big, big smile. “Just Uncle Cohen’s house.”
Uncle Cohen scoffed and frowned as Daddy laughed so hard he snorted. Uncle Cohen gave Daddy a look that was supposed to be serious and firm. “Just one room. Not the whole house.”
He was so silly.
“I’m going to come home and he’ll have taken over your entire house.” Daddy was shaking his head and giggling as he wagged his finger at Uncle Cohen. “I know your plan. Sneaky Doms with big houses need to be watched carefully.”
Oh, were they being sneaky?
Was just Uncle Cohen being sneaky?
I couldn’t decide if I should ask or not…ice cream was on the line.
Nope. It wasn’t worth it.
“Daddy.” Yep, they could be sneaky and I would pretend not to know. “We’re going to call you every time Uncle Cohen comes over to play.”
Daddy giggled. “What kind of playing are you going to show me?”
“Daddy.” He was so naughty…even Uncle Cohen groaned as I gave Daddy my I’m a good boy face. “I’m your good boy, Daddy.”
“That’s…” Uncle Cohen was shaking his head and looked up at the ceiling like he was talking to his imaginary friend. “I’m being a good Dom too.”
Giggling, I nodded. “He’s so good we’re going to find him a stuffie too. He needs a friend.”
A real one. Not the pretend kind.
Daddy was naughty and gave us a silly look. “Don’t be too good without me.”
He paused and had a look that said he was going to tease Uncle Cohen. “At the very least, have some ice cream.”
Uncle Cohen groaned again…they were both so silly.
Chapter 3
Cohen
I knew what that look meant, but I wasn’t trying to get Ian to move in no matter what Bishop was hinting at. I was worried the teasing would pull Ian out of his little headspace, but it seemed like Bishop hadn’t told him about those discussions.
Not that there was anything to discuss.
Thankfully, the gift of being told he should ask for ice cream distracted him from the vague teasing and the wicked gleam in Bishop’s eyes. My naughty pup was ready to play, but not in the innocent way Ian was talking about.
“With sprinkles, Daddy?” Ian leaned closer to the phone like it would help him talk Bishop into more goodies. “Uncle Cohen said we should have cookies too.”
I had?
Our memories of that conversation were clearly different, but I had a feeling we would be going with his version of events.
“Uncle Cohen is very generous.” Bishop raised one eyebrow and gave me a very Daddy glare. “He didn’t even make you have vegetables.”
Ian giggled but bounced his head side to side as he thought. “The pizza had onions and the green pepper kind of peppers, not the ones that bite your mouth, and the sauce is a veggie, right, Uncle Cohen?”
I liked the way he saw the world.
“Yes, it was. We had lots of veggies.” Because we’d consumed a ridiculous amount of pizza.
Bishop sighed. “Clearly, I can’t leave you two alone.”
Ian’s nod was nearly frantic he was so enthusiastic about that idea. “Nope. Daddy has to stay or we all have to go. New rule. It’s my turn to make one.”
Hmm…he might’ve been right about that.
Were we taking turns, though?
Bishop was more focused on how sweet the idea was and easily melted. “Yes, cutie. I think that’s a very good rule.”
