"Are you starting your own firm?" Becca asks, not giving her a chance to finish.
"God, no," Erika replies, and then she laughs nervously.
"What she is trying to say is that I want to fire her," I finally say, and Nico sits up. "I would like to have someone else represent me."
"Why the hell would you want that?" Nico asks. "She’s bent over backward for you. She’s brought you deals left, right, and center, and she squeezed my …" He stops before he says balls. "Neck the last time.”
"I am thankful for everything she has done for me," I respond. "But I think that it would be a—"
"We’re dating," Erika cuts in and says. "I’m dating Cooper." She looks at me. "Like a Band-Aid."
"Wait a second," Nico voices, sitting up and looking at us. "This meeting isn’t about you wanting to be traded?" I just look at him.
"And it’s not about you starting your own firm?" Becca reaffirms, and Erika just looks at her. "Oh, thank god." Becca looks at Nico. "Told you it was nothing serious."
"How was I supposed to know?" Nico defends, relaxing back onto the couch. "Who calls someone on a Saturday?" Shaking his head, he looks at us.
"Well, in my defense," Erika explains, "I wanted to tell you last week, but you were out of the office." I put my arm around her and bend down to kiss her shoulder. She looks at me, smiling shyly.
"Well, it’s about time," Nico says, rubbing Becca’s back. "It’s been interesting watching the two of you."
I share a look with Erika. "It was like watching two hamsters in a cage both going around and around," Becca jokes. "I’m just happy you took the chance." She looks at me. "But if you hurt her." She smiles, and it’s a friendly smile but looks almost like she is ready to stab me in the leg. "Well, let’s just say it won’t be pretty."
"Are you threatening my player?" Nico quizzes, chuckling.
"Me," she says, putting her hand to her chest. "I’m not threatening him; I’m informing him that if he hurts my girl, well …" She smiles at Nico, then turns back at me. "Shit is going to get very real."
I swear a shiver courses up my spine. "Duly noted," I concede and then look at Erika, making a mental note to ask her how serious she is.
Nico gets up. "Okay, I can breathe a little bit easier," he says, holding out his hand to Becca. "How about we head home?" She slides her hand in his, and we walk them out as they both wish us well.
Becca stops walking and turns around. "I’m going to send you an amended contract on Monday. Don’t fuck up until then." She smirks at me.
"I’ll be on my best behavior," I declare to her, and Erika wraps her arm around my waist. Only when they drive away do I look down at Erika.
"Define best behavior," she questions. "Because we have make-up sex to do, and then we have to have the I-love-you sex and then."
"And then we have to discuss you moving in here," I announce, turning and walking back into the house. I wait for her at the door as she walks in. "What do you want to do first?" I ask. "Make-up sex, I-love-you sex, or talk about moving in?" I ask, pulling her in my arms. "We can have this discussion with my cock in you." I bend and suck her neck. "You tend to give me what I want when you are underneath me." I smirk at her. "Or on top of me." I nip her lips. "Or in front of me." I pull her shirt off her and find her with her pink lace bra. "Hmmm," I appreciate, bending and I’m about to take her nipple in my mouth when my phone rings from somewhere in the house. "Hold that thought," I say, running to the kitchen and seeing that it’s my father.
I press the connect button, and his face fills the screen. "Hey," he greets, and I can see that he’s in the kitchen at home. "Your mom and I were just talking," he says, and I look up to see Erika coming into the room with her shirt back on.
"Yeah," I reply to him, walking to sit on the stool. "I’m here with Erika."
"Hi, Erika," my mother pipes in from somewhere in the kitchen, and then I see her face on the screen.
"Hi, Karrie," Erika says from beside me as she grabs a piece of strawberry and tosses it into her mouth.
"Anyway, your mother and I were thinking about coming to visit next weekend. Maybe for the week," he informs us. "We miss the girls.”
I laugh. "They will be so excited to hear you are coming."
"Good. We are going to look at renting a house."
