When the song came to an end, the clapping and noise everyone made were loud enough to be heard for two city blocks. Blair and Furi got up, buttoning their pants and righting their clothes. God stood when his mind finally began to work again and hugged Blair, kissing him on his temple, then did the same with Furi, thanking them both, Day following suit. That was definitely better than any professional stripper could possibly do. A stranger coming in and grinding all over him would be extremely uncomfortable. Furi and Blair kept it sexy but clean. And because he admired Furi and Blair so much, it made it fun but, most of all, it made it special. Those guys really showed up for them and God appreciated it.
It took a long time for the men to calm down, all of them wanting to admire Furi and Blair or joke with Syn, Pres, and Ric for being the luckiest sons of bitches. There was a lot more drinking and toasts made to them as the night began to wind down. God was drunk by the end of the night and so was his partner, so he made sure he kept him tucked in close. It had been the best bachelor party he didn’t know he wanted and he was touched everyone went to so much trouble. The food Pres and Green made was amazing, and all his friends pitching in with booze and beer made it not be a strain on his team’s pockets. God felt truly blessed and fortunate. He’d had a hard life and a difficult journey before he got to this place in his life. He’d found his world in Day.
Lennox Freeman – “Free”
Free kept looking through the window, wondering how much longer Tech would be here and if he was spending the night with his boyfriend. He didn’t want to be a pest and make Tech feel like he had to cut his evening short. It was his bosses’ – and he guessed his bosses’, too – bachelor party so he didn’t want to appear antisocial. Obviously, everyone here was very close. If he wanted to go back to Tech’s, he was a big boy; he’d figure it out. Free took another sip of his grapefruit juice, having steered clear of the liquor. He wanted to keep a fully alert mind. His belly was full of great food and the entertainment had been a blast. He did like Furi, Blair, and Ro. The guys seemed cool and were all amazingly gorgeous, but not wrapped up in their appearances. He respected that. They were men he wouldn’t mind hanging out with, at least until he really got to know everyone on the team.
Free watched Tech interacting with the guys, while Steele stared at him like he hung the moon. He knew his friend was in love with that big guy, and he was happy for him. Tech hadn’t had the chance to develop relationships with the guys he’d dated in the past since none of them stuck around long enough. After that last prick took off, Free thought he’d have to come back and spend some time with Tech, but his friend had refused. Free was in the middle of a huge job and it would’ve cost him a lot of money, but he’d have done it for his Techy. The younger man meant the world to him. He was a true friend with a good heart. What he’d done for him and his mom could never be repaid, but Free was here now, hoping that showed just how thankful he was. Tech wanted him here, so he was here. But damn, getting used to all these giant men was not going to be easy. He didn’t know what he’d been expecting from a room full of law enforcement, why wouldn’t they be fit and muscular? And most of them weren’t just officers, they were specialized officers. Free wasn’t entirely relaxed with men like that. It was nerve wracking to be attracted to that type of man and to also fear them. So Free just stuck with twinks or men who were at least under five-ten, five-nine… it was usually safer.
He was standing on the fire escape getting some air. Although it was pretty cold out, it was too stuffy and overloaded with testosterone inside. Most of the men were past drunk and were getting louder while they talked about police stuff.
The door opened and a man came stumbling out with a beer bottle in his hand. Free had noticed the obnoxious guy making rounds in the room. It didn’t look like he was well liked, especially by the members of God’s team. He looked at Free for a couple seconds before making his way over to him, bumping his shoulder when he leaned on the space beside him. Free eased over but there wasn’t much space on the small landing. The guy smelled like a brewery. He wasn’t completely unattractive. He had a nice face and a thick upper body, but warning bells pinged in Free’s head, and he’d learned long ago not to ignore them. “I’m gonna head back in—”
