After giving the all-clear, my wife walks up to me. “I’m glad we’re having another little girl. These boys are going to give me a heart attack one day.” I wrap my arms around her, cradling her belly while her ass presses firmly on my growing pride.

“Need I remind you how we met, Princess?” I whisper in her ear.

“That’s different.” She spins to face me and tosses her hands on her hips just like Diana. I can’t imagine where my baby girl got that from. I let out a small chuckle at her pout and steal a kiss from her lips.

“Well, I’m still grateful that you came in needing me to sweep you off your feet.” The thought of her getting hurt bothered me, but now I get to keep her until the end of our days.

“So am I, my prince charming.”

“Hey, Prince Charming, are you going to finish grilling, or do you want me to take over?”

“You can take over; I want to swim with my girls.” I scoop up my little girl and take Ella’s hand as we walk into the pool.

“Daddy, Daddy, I can swim now.”

“Okay, show us.” She does her best doggie paddle, but my baby girl has a long way to go.

“Dad, can I come in now?” Dylan asks, looking bored as hell. His cousin and best buddy’s inside the house taking a nap. Patrick was out riding his bike and broke his leg last week. The pain meds send him straight to sleep. Dani just went in to check on him.

“Are you feeling dizzy?” I ask. We don’t need another accident around here.

“Nope, just bored.” He harrumphs.

“Okay. Stay in the shallow end for a bit.”

Just then, Dani comes out with Patrick, who was born a week after Dylan. He can’t go swimming for a long while, but at least he’s got a book to read. He’s taken after his father and brother well.

“Hey, little bro. Are you okay?”

“Yeah.” He looks so upset as he takes the seat Dylan just vacated. My six-year-old little sister Gracie comes out of the water and runs to her big brother to give him a hug.

“You know what, Dad? I’ll just hang out with Patrick.” I’ve raised a good man.

“How about some chess?”

“Why? You want to lose again?” Patrick asks.

“Whatever. I was distracted.”

“Whatever. Let’s go.” Dylan gets up and goes inside to pull out his personal set. I never had a brother, but now I do and he’s best friends with my son. It’s crazy, but I can’t explain how happy that makes me.

“You’re doing a hell of a job with our boy,” Ella whispers in my ear.

“I couldn’t do it without you, my love. How are you feeling?”

“Wonderful.” She rubs her belly as Diana splashes around us. Our two other boys, Reese and Jake, are trying to best each other in laps. Those are my two athletes. I don’t know what’s in store for us, but I’m grateful that my life turned out this way. All it took was catching a princess.
