CHAPTER
TWO
LOGAN
I can’t stop thinking about that night. That night, I made her mine. I was her first, and she was mine. Of course, she was. It’s just been her since I was barely thirteen years old. She was. We bounced around the same foster homes for a while. Then we went into a group home. I got a job and started saving for our future.
Everything I’ve done since I met her has been for her. I’ve always known she was for it for me. I loved her then, and I’m in love with her now. So fucking in love with her. I’ve been so patient with her, but I need her to be my wife. I need to tie her to me forever.
I should be working; I have a pretty important job in the White House security office, but I can only think about her. My internship here should be my focus as I finish my criminal justice degree. I’ve been applying to police departments around here because I know May wants to remain in the DC area. She loves working at the White House, even though she hasn’t expressly told me what she wants to do when she’s completed her internship.
My cock hardens in my pants as I imagine her little gasps and moans while she was under me. Fuck, I need to hear it again. She was so responsive. I don’t know how the hell I managed not to bust as soon as I slid my bare cock into her unprotected pussy. I pulled out of her and looked down. Her blood on my dick made my blood boil. She’s really mine. All mine.
It's been three months of torture not doing taking her again.
“Madden!”
“Yes, sir?” I ask when my boss comes into the bullpen, my hard-on instantly deflating.
“Come into my office,” Loughlin says. I get up, following behind him.
“Have a seat.” I do. “You’re doing a great job here. Your internship is over soon. Once you have your degree, I’d like to formally offer you a job here.”
I wasn’t expecting this. Having a backup plan will be nice if police work doesn’t pan out.
“Can I think about it? I have some applications in, and I’d like to hear what they say.”
“Of course. We won’t be offering the job to anyone else until you graduate.”
“Thank you, sir,” I say, standing and shaking his hand.
Working in the security office isn’t exactly what you think it is. The Secret Service handles most of what you’d consider day-to-day security of the White House, especially in any area the president would be in, which can be anywhere at any time. What I do is more elite. We deal with specific threats to the White House, including the cyber networks and the two miles around and above it. We work closely with the Secret Service, DC Metro PD, and the Marines stationed here. It’s very hectic but I really do love it.
At five o’clock, I head out of the White House and over to my second job. I take care of all of our bills and household expenses because our internships are unpaid, besides I never want May to worry about a damn thing.
I work at the Gilded Cage, a club owned by the Vitali Crime Family in New York. I know I shouldn’t have anything to do with that, but they pay well and offer health insurance. They also didn’t bat an eyelash when I put May on mine.
It’s nearing last call, and the bachelorette party celebrating here tonight is out of control. I’ve made two times our rent in tips tonight alone. I’m usually off by now, but Vito, my boss, asked me to stay and make sure everything is under control.
“Hey, big boy,” a drunk woman says, rubbing up against me as I move past the party. I was headed to the back to get a new keg. Her perfume is cloying, and it makes my stomach roil.
“Ma’am,” I say.
“Ma’am!” she screeches. “I’m the bride!”
“I see that,” I say dryly. The sash and tiara gave that shit away. I give her marriage a year, tops. She’s been trying to fuck all the waiters, bartenders, and even a few of the waitresses tonight.
“You’re the one I want one last fling with before I say I do.” Right.
“Sorry. I’m married, but this isn’t that kind of establishment even if I weren't.”
“Haven’t you heard that the customer is always right?”
“Not in this case. Excuse me.”
“Rude. I want to speak to your manager.” She flings the remnants of her Cosmo in my face. Great, she was using the glass as a fucking ashtray.
“You’re welcome to, but I don’t fuck with customers. Can I get you ladies one last drink before your limo takes you to your next destination?”
Fuck, I’m exhausted, I think as I quietly open the front door. I freeze when a tiny body slams into me. Her arms wrap around me, and mine automatically wrap around her.
