“Well, yeah, of course I'm having fun. But that's not the point—”
“That's always the point,” he says, cutting me off. “Life's too short to live two heartbeats ahead.”
Kent balls up his clothes and adjusts them under his arm. Turning, he walks away, and I watch his ass as he goes into the bathroom.
The sound of the water for the tub goes on. “You coming?” he asks, poking his head out the door.
“What?”
“You coming?” he asks again, giving me a soft smile.
Letting out a slow breath, I let my eyes connect with his.
He winks and nods his head for me to come into the bathroom.
I know I should say no. I should thank him and leave it at that. Remind him that I’m a phone call away if there are any problems with the house. This has already gone far enough. He's banged me twice, although still my body feels like it needs more.
I can feel him burrowing his way into my chest, wrapping his hands around my bones and claiming me as his.
Go home, Perri! Go home!
And as my brain tries to force me to do the right thing, my body swiftly comes in and slaps it away.
My feet lead me to the bathroom, where Kent is filling the jacuzzi bathtub. Steam is rolling up out of the water as he looks back at me from over his shoulder.
“Now I know where I stand with you,” he says.
“What do you mean?”
“You're seeing what's right in front of you. Just like I've been seeing it for a while now.”
His words strike me. They hit my chest and stop my heart.
Kent's noticed me, and yet, he never saw me looking.
Who knew we've been seeing the same thing in silence?
We've been seeing each other.

She's so beautiful.
I lay on my arm as I watch her sleep. She scrunches her nose as her brows twitch and her lips wriggle. The sun is breaking through the slats in the blinds, creating a glowing strip across the side of her face.
It's been two weeks of this. Two perfect weeks of us living in blissful solitude. No one else around to tear apart this little life we built. It feels perfect. Natural. Like this is exactly where we both should be.
I come home and find her floating in the pool, her little bikini barely covering her at all. We eat dinner together, she makes me laugh and smile, and all I want is for this to be our forever.
There's so much life in her eyes. It's refreshing, her youthful glow and innocent outlook on the world. I haven't been this happy in years.
Dancing the very tips of my fingers across her cheek, I barely touch her, but I know she feels me. Her eyes flicker behind closed lids, and her face crinkles. She brushes her hand across her cheek like she's being tickled with a feather, trying to wipe it away.
Perri makes a few muffled noises, nuzzling her head deeper into the pillow as she rolls onto her back. I can watch her all day like this. She looks so perfect, like an angel.
She blinks her eyes open, and smiles. It's a gorgeous smile, and it makes my heart hammer inside my chest. Smiling back, I let my fingers touch her now, running them through her hair.
“Good morning,” I say, continuing to play with her hair. Spinning a lock around my finger loosely, I let it slip free.
“Good morning,” she answers with a sleepy yawn as her body stretches.
“Did you sleep well?” I ask.
Perri nods and reaches her arms up over her head. “This bed is pretty damn comfortable.” The blankets shift, exposing her chest.
Resting my hand on her stomach, I swirl a finger around her bellybutton, and tickle it up her ribs. Goosebumps spread across her skin and she giggles. That damn giggle. It fills my ears and makes my dick twitch.
Her nipples bead as I keep running the tip of my finger around her chest, from one side to the other. Arching her back, she guides her tit to my finger. Pinching her nipple between my thumb and forefinger, I twist it softly then move to the next.
“Mm,” she moans as her eyes drift to mine and she bites her bottom lip. “You're bad,” she says, her lids lowering as she rolls her body to face me.
“I won't apologize for enjoying something so beautiful.” Wrapping my arm around her side, I pull her up onto my lap.
Her hair sweeps across my face as her legs spread over my waist. Her bare pussy pushes against my lower stomach and I grab her hips and pull her down.
“Is this breakfast?” she asks, rocking her hips. “Because I am a little hungry.”
Grunting, I throw my hands around her shoulders and yank her down. I kiss her hard and deep, driving my hands into her hair. She rocks against my stomach, and her nipples scrape my chest.
