Kayden whisks me through the open door and doesn’t even bother to close it behind us. Walking right into the kitchen, he sets me down in the middle of the island. The kids think it’s the best thing in the world and actually clap for our grand entrance.
I’m blushing by the time I climb down, but it’s the best kind of blushing. The kind that comes from being truly, truly loved, and loving more than I could have ever imagined.
Next month, our families are going to be visiting. They enjoy visiting us, but they like to do it when it’s warmer. The kids adore their grandparents. Thankfully, we have enough spare rooms in the house for everyone to be here at the same time. Everyone made up for what happened years ago. It’s hard to believe that was five years ago already.
But I do know where the time has gone. I truly do. Because it’s spent loving, loving more than I ever thought possible, in a life I would never have dreamed of, and with a heart that is so full, it could, and has, changed the world.
The End.
