She lifts her hand to her ear and pulls out her AirPods. This woman hasn’t looked up at me yet as she’s trying to save her milk carton. Which still has the milk dripping all down my fucking leg.

I start shaking the milk off my pants and almost kick her in the process while she’s bent down. Then she tilts her head up toward me, and I’m struck dumb momentarily. Her eyes are like none I’ve seen before, and I can’t help but stare as she gazes up at me. Her cheeks flush and, before I can think better of it, my mouth opens and words blurt out, “What’s wrong with your eyes?”

She looks down and wipes her hands on her dress before she stands. She’s tiny compared to me and seems a bit timid.

I feel like I could break her.

I want to break her.

Fuck.

Where did that come from?

“It’s um…” She pauses, unsure of what to say.

I stare at her with creased brows, waiting for her to continue.

Her cheeks turn an even deeper red before she leans down and picks up her bags. “I have to go.” She goes to move past me, but I block her way, and that’s when her scent hits me. She smells like fruity pink bubble gum, and I lick my lips. I’ve smelled that before. Her head shakes before she tries the other side, but I block that too. I see her visibly start to tremble.

“Why are you shaking?” I ask, leaning down to look into those fucked-up eyes. They are so disgustingly beautiful that I can’t stop staring at them. They are dark, but one is fully chocolate brown, while the other looks like the pupil is bleeding into the iris. Like it decided it was time to not be chocolate everywhere anymore.

Interesting.

“You scare me.” Her voice is soft and nervous.

Can I break her, please?

Oh, the satisfaction I would get makes me hard just thinking about it.

“I scare you?” I ask, amused at her honesty. “Why?”

“Will you let me pass, please?” she whispers, her gaze back on her feet.

Pity, I did enjoy studying those fascinating orbs.

“You didn’t answer my first question,” I remind her.

The woman licks her cherry-red lips, and I wonder if they taste like cherries too.

Then I wonder, If I cut her, would she bleed the same deep, dark red of a cherry?

“I have coloboma. It’s a genetic disorder I was born with. I’m partially blind in one eye.”

“Hmm.” I didn’t expect that. Not sure what I expected.

“I do have to go,” she says again. This time, when she steps around me, I let her. I hear her sigh of relief as she passes me, and I smell that scent again—bubble gum. Her long, almost black hair sways as she walks away, and when I look over my shoulder, I watch it brushing her ass.

I feel eyes on me and know my brothers are waiting for me, but I can’t stop watching her. She walks to the apartment next door and unlocks it. Those eyes, so dark one would think they would be sinful, but in reality, she’s more than likely innocent, meet mine. She blinks a few times as she sees me staring and quickly looks away as she steps inside.

Little does she know if I wanted her, the door wouldn’t stop me.

I can’t help but laugh as I hear her lock it.

It’s probably best.

She wouldn’t want me inside her house.

I like to cut things I find interesting.

Not everything should be so pretty.

That man—I know him!

And he clearly did not recognize me at all.

Rushing inside and dropping my groceries I quickly lock the door before I turn my back to it and slide down my door, I sit there with my groceries in front of me.

Why would he recognize me? He never did in school.

My hands shake, and I place them close to my chest, clutching them together to keep them still.

Taking a few deep breaths, I manage to pull myself up and carry my things over to the kitchen to unpack the bags.

Leaving the house is not something I do regularly outside of work. I hate leaving my apartment, and the last time I did, it did not end well for me. I came home and didn’t leave again until this morning to purchase groceries, and I just spilled all the milk I actually need.

I work for an accounting firm and was required to go into the office twice a week, but after that night, I took a week off then asked them if I could work from home. I hated going into the office anyway. But I do it because the job pays me well. Sometimes, I wonder if they would even notice if I didn’t come in twice a week because no one pays me any attention while I’m there. And not that I’m complaining as I don’t care, but it’s like I go in, and people are blind to me. I’ve only had one full conversation with someone in the last month at work, and that was regarding a lunch in the fridge. They wanted to know if it was mine.
