Toni moaned as her head fell back and her body jolted beneath me, her nails biting into my shoulders. Needing more, I turned towards the bed and lowered her onto the mattress. I kept my pace steady as I let my hand slide down between her thighs, my thumb gliding over her clit as her body bucked against my touch. Her moans filled the room as I brought her closer to her release. Panting and breathless, she clamped down around my cock and muttered, “So close.”
She ground her hips against mine, matching my relentless rhythm, as she whimpered, “More.”
Fuck.
My girl always wanted more, and that’s just what I gave her. Her grip on my shoulders tightened as I tilted her hips, driving deeper and harder with every move. I felt her clamp down around my cock, letting me know that her climax was approaching. When her body started to writhe and jolt, my resistance broke, and I came deeply inside her. I’d barely caught my breath when she whispered, “That was good. I needed that.”
“I thought you might.” I leaned over and kissed her on the neck. “Now, why don’t you go take yourself a hot bath, and I’ll get Dawson up and he and I will make dinner.”
“Really?”
“Absolutely.” I stood and pulled up my jeans as I told her, “It’s time I showed our boy how to grill the ultimate burger.”
“He’s three.”
“You gotta start ‘em early, or they’ll never learn.”
“Yeah, well, just make sure you keep an eye on him and don’t let him get too close to the fire.”
“I’ve got it.” I started for the door as I told her, “Dinner will be ready in an hour.”
I went across the hall into Dawson’s room, and my heart swelled when I spotted my son sleeping soundly in his bed. Even after all this time, it was hard to believe that something so beautiful was mine. I tiptoed closer and watched him sleep for a moment.
He was beautiful like his momma and fiery like her, too. I knew it wouldn’t take much for him to wake up in a foul mood, so I tried to be gentle as I ran my hand across his belly and whispered, “Hey, buddy, it’s time to wake up.”
He started to stir, and after a little stretch, his eyelids fluttered open. My heart melted when Dawson smiled at the sight of me and said, “Hey, daddy.”
“Hey there, big boy. You ready to get up?”
Dawson nodded, then sat up and reached his arms up for me to pick him up. I lifted him from the bed and carried him over to his bathroom. After a quick bathroom break, I carried him into the kitchen and sat him on one of the counter stools. “We’re going to make dinner tonight.”
I dropped a few Cheez-It’s on the table before grabbing the burger meat and onions from the fridge. I started patting out the hamburgers as I told him, “You’re gonna have a new little brother or sister soon, and it’s gonna be your job to look out for them. It’s what a big brother does.”
“I’m gonna have a sister.”
“Maybe so.” I helped him off the stool as I told him, “Come on. It’s time to put these bad boys on the grill.”
Dawson followed me out to the porch and listened intently as I showed him all the ins and outs of grilling burgers. While the meat sizzled over the heat of the fire, we both sat quietly in our rocking chairs and quickly became lost in our own thoughts. We hadn’t been there long when Toni stepped outside and said, “Hmmm, the burgers smell fantastic.”
“You’re supposed to be resting.”
“I can rest out here.” She walked over and sat down in the rocker next to Dawson. She leaned her head back and closed her eyes as she started to rock back and forth. “This is nice.”
“You seem a little less stressed.”
“Oh, I definitely am. Thanks to you.”
“Just doing what I can.”
A soft smile crossed her face as Toni’s hands drifted to her growing belly. She was happy, and that made me happy. In fact, I couldn’t be happier.
I had my health, my brothers, and the love of my life who had given me my son and soon another. There was a time when I never would have dreamed that my life could turn out like this, and I owed it all to Toni.
“I love you.”
Toni’s smile grew wider as she whispered, “I love you more.”
Yeah- life was good.
Damn good.
The End
