I press my lips to hers, wanting to just give her a quick kiss of reassurance. People are so quick to backpedal when they confess that something isn’t for them in fear of offending someone, but there’s nothing wrong with knowing something isn’t your style.

The kiss doesn’t end with a peck. Like the ninja she is, Devyn slips her tongue past my lips, and God help me if it isn’t exactly what I wanted.

I hold my hand out, pressing it to the wall to catch our weight as I kiss her back. I get lost in her, lost in the way her body fits against mine as our tongues tangle. I breathe her in, my cock hard and encouraging all sorts of things, but when her hand sweeps down the front of my slacks, I freeze.

I made myself promises about how tonight was going to go, and I’ll be damned if I let my arousal talk me out of it. There’s nothing wrong with getting freaky in a sex club. And kudos to all the folks that are doing that, but it isn’t how I want to spend our first time together. I don’t know when I decided on being in this for the long haul with her, but the moment I did I was all in.

“Not yet,” I tell her, pulling my face back as I clasp my hand over hers.

I’m not a saint, so I do roll my hips against her touch one last time before pulling her hand away.

“You’re so hard.”

“You really fucking turn me on,” I tell her.

“Same,” she says. I somehow find the strength to pull my hand free when she presses my fingers against her inner thigh.

“We have to wait for the other guys,” I remind her. “We all rode together.”

“You have a rideshare app on your phone, don’t you?”

Her eyes sparkle with need as I nod.

“Use it.”

Chapter 27

Devyn

My hands are still trembling, but even as embarrassed as I am about it, Emmett doesn’t tease me on the ride back to the hotel.

Instead of using the rideshare app, he texted the other guys to see if they were ready. We waited another half an hour, spending the time at the bar because we were both wound a little too tight to keep watching others enjoy each other, before the guys showed up.

Stormy had a huge smile on his face, his hair a mess as if someone had run their hands through it. Oracle somehow looked more relaxed than he did when he split off from the group. Newton looked bored despite his shirt being buttoned wrong.

They didn’t tease me on the drive back. They also didn’t go into detail about how they spent their time either, and I was grateful for that.

Wordlessly, Emmett holds his hand out to me as I climb out of the SUV. He doesn’t release my hand even when we get on the elevator. I press the button for the sixth floor, trying to stifle a yawn as the car climbs.

“Tired?” he asks, and I shake my head.

I don’t want him trying to tuck me into bed and disappearing into his own room.

He lets go of my hand when I reach into my bra to pull out my hotel key card, his eyes staying locked on my chest a little longer than necessary.

The warmth of his body follows me into the hotel room, and I’m grateful. I just knew I was going to have to beg him to join me because he’s been so adamant that we need to date and get to know each other before we do anything that we might regret if we discover we aren’t compatible.

“I’m going to take a quick shower,” I tell him, feeling a little disappointed when he doesn’t follow me into the bathroom.

My hands tremble as I undress, scared I’ll find my room empty when I’m done.

I take my time, postponing the disappointment. I keep my hair piled on top of my head because I washed it earlier. I pull on a long t-shirt and a pair of panties before going back into the room.

My feet freeze at the sight of him not only still in the room but sitting on the chaise in the corner with a thin blanket on his lap.

“Come here,” he insists when it becomes clear that my feet are locked in place.

It takes a minute for my brain to regain control over my body, but he waits patiently, his hand out for me to take as I approach.

I move to straddle him, but he grips my hips and turns me, positioning me between his spread legs before pulling the blanket back up to cover us both.

He doesn’t immediately lift my shirt, exposing my breasts like the woman at the club was, but my blood still sings in anticipation of it.
