“Your job?”
She lifted her shoulders in an unconcerned shrug. “I can tutor until I decide if I want to get my certification in New York. I’ll figure things out.”
“And the loan forgiveness you mentioned?”
“We’ll figure that out, too.”
He smiled at her answer. “We?”
She nodded. “We. I’m not going to do it all by myself. I’m open to help because I trust you to be there for me.”
That was all he’d ever needed to hear. “I love you, Hads.”
“I love you too, Zach.”
His lips met hers and all was right in his world again.

Remy Sterling
One year Later – Zach and Hadley’s Wedding
The ceremony for Zach and Hadley’s wedding took place in one of the ballrooms of The Meridian NYC Hotel owned by the Dare family. Remy couldn’t be happier for his friend as he married the love of his life.
Serenity had walked down the aisle, a vision in silver, her jet-black hair falling to her shoulders. Zach followed, then Remy, as the best man so Zach didn’t have to choose among his brothers. The bridesmaids, made up of Zach’s sisters and sisters-in-law, wore pale blue and walked side by side with the groomsmen.
Layla was escorted by one of her triplet brothers, the other two following behind each other. It was, Remy thought, the biggest bridal party he’d ever seen.
Next came Hadley’s sister, Dani, the maid of honor, beaming at her role in the ceremony. She’d grown up a lot in the year since she’d shown up at their restaurant with Hadley, upending Zach’s life for the better.
The flower girls consisted of Zach’s nieces, some helped by their mothers, Leah, Nick’s daughter, leading them all.
Remy stood beside Zach as they waited for the bride’s turn to walk down the aisle. His siblings stood in a line beside them.
“Nervous?” Remy asked quietly.
Zach stretched his head from side to side. “Not a bit. Though I wouldn’t mind getting rid of the monkey suit.”
Shaking his head, Remy chuckled. “Once Serenity got a hold of the wedding plans, you had no choice.”
“Yeah. But since she’s all but adopted Hadley and Dani into the family, she can do anything she wants, and I’ll go along.”
Remy grinned. “You’re lucky to have her.” A pang hit him because he no longer had his mother in his life.
She’d been murdered sixteen years ago by one of his stockbroker father’s clients. There were some details of that night Remy blamed himself for, but as usual, he pushed it out of his mind. His father, grandparents and siblings made up a tight-knit group and Remy understood how Zach felt about his big family.
“So, how’s it feel to get everything you always wanted?” Remy asked.
Zach’s grin said it all. “Second chances rock.”
“I’ll drink to that later,” Nick said from his place in line.
The other brothers agreed with Nick.
“Are you going to make your move on Raven tonight?” Zach asked him, his gaze going back to the closed doors Hadley stood behind.
Raven. The Back Door NYC bar manager and the woman who’d captured Remy’s interest from the moment he’d met her. Their flirting was fun, but he was aware she had walls built to keep people out. Over time, he’d become more invested in finding out why and being the man to break through her reserve.
“I’ll do my best,” he said, knowing he intended to have a slow dance with her so he could feel her lithe body against his.
Zach opened his mouth to speak when “Here Comes the Bride” started. The men clasped their hands in front of them and waited as the doors at the far end of the aisle opened.
Hadley stood beside Zach’s father, who was walking her down the aisle. Zach didn’t take his eyes off his soon-to-be-wife.
The ceremony was short and beautiful and soon Zach had Hadley in his arms, his lips on hers, the wedding guests cheering.
Remy’s gaze strayed to Raven, who wore a beautiful green dress, her tanned skin glowing as she sat in the audience, her eyes tear-filled, like many of the female guests. None as beautiful as she was.
All the Dare siblings had found their person, leaving Remy the single man left in the group. With his gaze pinned on the woman of his dreams, Remy was determined… his turn was next.
