He swallowed hard and nodded. “Inside you bare? Fuck,” he muttered. “I’m not sure I’ll make it long.”

She couldn’t hold back her smile. “Might make that challenge hard to live up to.” She laughed at her words.

She barely recognized this light version of herself around a man, especially one she was about to have sex with. But Noah made letting go and being real so easy. She could joke and even tease him in ways she’d never done with a guy before.

“You won’t be laughing much longer.” He bent forward and pulled one of her already sensitive nipples into his mouth, swirling his tongue around the tight bud and grazing it with his teeth.

She moaned, her hips arcing upward as need hit her hard. As if sensing her desire, Noah eased up and wrapped his hand around his impressive erection, thick and ready to enter her. He pumped his shaft, his hand gliding up and down, his gaze never leaving hers.

Her sex grew wet and an emptiness filled her. “Please,” she said, ready for him.

He lined himself up at her entrance and nudged his thick cock into her, sliding in and out in slow, steady increments. Leaning forward, he braced his hands beside her head and joined them completely.

“Oh, Noah.” Nothing had ever felt as good as Noah Powers. And when he began to move, starting slow and picking up the pace, she saw heaven.

In a shift that shocked her, he rose and settled back on his knees, their bodies still connected. She lifted her legs and bent them back, her hips arching up as her sex clenched around him, and a small sound of pleasure escaped from deep in her throat.

“Hang on,” he said, and instinct had her reaching for the slats on the headboard.

He began to move in earnest, thrusting deeper and harder with each pass. He seemed attuned to her, reading her reactions and adjusting his position so his body played hers perfectly, giving her what she needed to soar higher each time he thrust deep.

He drove into her harder and faster and soon she was soaring, seeing stars and a kaleidoscope of brilliant colors. He pumped into her three more times and came hard right after. He released his grip on her legs and collapsed on top of her, his breath now heavy on her neck.

A few minutes later, he rolled off her and she felt him pull out, leaving her feeling empty. On his side, he faced her and she couldn’t help but smile.

“Very impressive, Mr. Powers.”

He grinned back.

Reaching out, she traced his upward turned lips with her fingertip.

“So? Was that up there with the best kiss ever?” he asked, his tone cocky and sure.

His arrogance was warranted. “I’ll give you all three. Best kiss, best oral, and best sex ever.”

“Best for me as well.” He slid a hand behind her head and pressed a long kiss to her lips. “And something I hope we can repeat.”

He broke their connection and rolled to his side, coming to stand by the bed. “I need to shower and get home.”

She heard the regret in his tone and wasn’t at all hurt or surprised. “Go ahead.” She eased the blankets down the bed and slid beneath the covers. “I’ll go after you.”

“I’d ask you to join me but if I got you naked in the shower I’d never get out of here.”

She nodded, pleased with his reply. Once he was closed in the bathroom, she pulled the comforter up to her chin, covering her chilled body.

Alone, she thought about the night, knowing she could do one of two things right now. Dissect what they’d done and panic or enjoy the afterglow. She chose option number two.

Chapter Eleven

Noah walked into his apartment in a good mood not even his bickering girls could break. He’d left Fallon with a goodbye kiss meant to ensure she was too dazed to overthink things once he was gone.

“What are they arguing about?” he asked.

“Who talks to Charlie first,” his brother said, standing up from the couch and stretching.

He sighed. “Girls! Get in here now.”

They ran in, hair in braids, wearing their pajamas. “Daddy!” they each yelled, their default sound.

“Heads or tails?” he asked. “Dakota, it’s your turn to choose.”

He flipped the coin and she called out, “Heads!”

Sure enough, it landed back in his hand on heads. “Dakota, you talk to your mom first.”

“Fine,” Dylan said with a pout. “Let’s go wait for her to call. The iPad’s on my bed.”

The girls stomped out and Noah blew out a long breath. “I used to say they could take turns but neither could agree who spoke to her first the last time Charlie called. Hell, half the time I couldn’t remember, so I settled on flipping a coin.”

His brother chuckled. “They are a handful,” he said with fondness in his voice. “I love hanging out with them and I love when I get to give the bickering duo back to you.”
