Xander patted his jeans pocket, making sure his prized possession was where it was supposed to be, and pushed aside his nerves. He’d know when the time was right.
“Hey!” Sasha walked into the kitchen wearing a sexy sundress that revealed her bare, tanned shoulders and a tiny heart necklace he’d bought her around her neck.
She walked over and wrapped her arms around him and pressed that soft body against his firm one. He immediately grew hard against her.
“Xander, your family will be here any minute.” But she didn’t step away. Instead, she hugged him tighter. “This morning was amazing,” she whispered in his ear.
He groaned because it so fucking was. He closed his eyes, remembering her climbing up his body, settling her legs on either side of his head, and letting him feast until she was writhing and coming hard and fast. And when she’d finished her climax, he’d urged her to slide back over him. He’d grasped her hips and thrust up inside her, finding home.
“Stop that!” She pushed his shoulder, taking him out of his hot memory.
“What?”
“I know that look. You’re thinking about sex,” she said, laughing.
“You’re standing in front of me looking gorgeous. Of course I am.”
“Well, we have company coming.” She stepped out of his grasp. “Did I tell you the good news? I spoke to Harrison Dare. He’s an actor friend of mine and he’s interested in talking to us about our company. We have to line up a head of development so you don’t have to give up your writing to find scripts, head of production, post production and distribution. Harrison has contacts that outshine mine, believe me.”
“Great. I’m looking forward to meeting him.”
Sasha walked to the fridge and began to pull out food they’d ordered in and chilled. Xander had hired a catering company to clean up so they didn’t have to deal with it or leave it for his housekeeper on Monday, two days from now. The two women were outside, setting up the table. They needed more room now because Dash’s band members were joining them.
“I wish Linc and Jordan could come. I’m worried about her,” Xander said.
Sasha nodded. “The doctor prescribed bedrest because of early cramping and contractions but he isn’t worried. The longer they can keep the baby inside her, the stronger his or her lungs will be. But it’s thirty-six weeks. If she goes into labor, the baby will be fine.” She put a hand on his shoulder. “We could have stalled a family barbeque, you know. Until she had the baby.”
He shook his head. “Linc understands about us holding it anyway.”
Before she pushed him for more of an explanation, the beeps of the alarm indicated the front door had opened, and he blew out a relieved breath. “Someone’s here.”
“I’ll go see who’s arrived,” she said.
He needed a minute and took a deep breath. Since they’d straightened things out between them, everything had fallen into place so easily it was almost scary. The stalker situation had been resolved. The man was in jail and the district attorney and his public defender were arguing over whether or not the man was sane. As long as he was locked up somewhere, Xander and Sasha were relieved.
And life had gone on. In the time since he and Sasha had gotten back together, she’d moved quickly. She’d wrapped up her life in California with incredible speed, tasking a Realtor to sell her house and help her mother find a reasonable place of her own. Cassidy had decided to move to New York where her brother also now lived. She agreed to work for Sasha and Xander at the production company they planned to call K-Talent, for Keaton and Kingston.
Sasha had moved in with Xander, and Cassidy was staying in the house her brother was renting while she decided where she wanted to live.
Dash and Cassidy avoided each other, and when they were stuck in the same room, their behavior made it obvious something had happened between them. Sasha hadn’t gotten much information out of her friend. No more than Xander had from his brother.
According to Sasha, Cassidy thought Dash was a man-whore, and she wasn’t wrong. His brother enjoyed the rock-star lifestyle. Xander just wished he hadn’t hurt someone so close to Sasha. It made life hard. It was a miracle Cassidy’s brother, now an official part of the band, hadn’t found out.
Xander heard the sound of voices and headed out to greet his family. A couple of hours later, everyone was laughing and having a good time.
Sasha, Cassidy, and Aurora had their heads together to discuss the charity project they wanted to work on, and his mother was holding nine-month-old Leah. Sasha’s mother was talking to Beck’s parents, who had joined them this time, along with his brothers. His father had had colon cancer but was doing well and they’d accepted the invitation.
