“Car?”

“Yes.”

“Why a car? Where are we going, Chase?”

“Because I want my hands on you the entire night.” Her mouth forms this cute little O, and I can’t help but grin. It’s not often you can shock my Gabby speechless.

“You better go get ready,” I say, forcing myself to pull away from her.

“But I don’t even know what to wear.”

“You’re going to look beautiful in anything.”

“Chase!” She smacks my arm lightly. “I’m being real here. At least tell me what you’re wearing.”

“Fine. I have some black dress pants, and a black button-down.”

“Fancy?”

“Just be you, Gabs. The car will be here in two hours. Now go get ready.” I kiss her on the corner of her mouth before standing. If I don’t pull myself away from her, neither one of us will be ready. I need this night to be epic.

“Fine.” She stands and saunters off toward our bedroom.

Our bedroom.

I never could have imagined that this is how everything would turn out. Gabby living here, and pregnant with our baby. It’s as if everything I wanted, everything I never pushed for all these years, is finally falling into place.

Pulling up my email, I answer a few messages from clients, and then decide I better get ready as well. I already put my clothes in the spare bedroom, knowing that if I was anywhere near her in a state of undress, this night would have a different ending. When I bought this house, it was hard to think about it being full, but here we are, three of the four bedrooms in use. I say three, because our baby needs a room, and Colt and Milo can have theirs as long as they need it. Honestly, I like having them here. I’ve missed my brother.

Sometime later, I’m standing in the living room looking out the window. The limo pulled in about ten minutes ago. I texted the driver, letting him know we’ll be a few more minutes.

“Wow, and I can only see you from the back.” Gabby’s voice greets my ears.

Slowly I turn to face her. “Fuck, you’re beautiful.” She’s wearing a short black dress and black heels. Her hair is pulled up on top of her head, and her eyes are sparkling. She’s glowing. Radiant. I’ve heard of pregnancy glow but could never see it. Maybe it’s because she’s mine, because part of me is growing inside her. Whatever it is, I wouldn’t miss it for the world.

She blushes. “Thanks. Chase, you look hot.”

My legs carry me to her. Bending, I place a kiss on her cheek. “I’m a sure thing, Gabs. No need to butter me up.”

“Stop it.” She laughs.

“How are you feeling?” Earlier, she was nauseated, but she seems fine now.

“I’m good. I’m a little worried about where we’re going to eat. I hope I can handle it.”

“Say the word and we’ll leave.”

“I’m sure it will be fine.”

“Shall we?” I ask, offering her my arm. I’m glad Colt is at Mom and Dad’s with Milo. No way he’d ever let me live this down. Not that I care. I’m making this a night to remember for her. At least that’s the plan.

“I can’t believe you got a limo.” Gabby runs her hands over the plush leather of the seats.

I hit the button that separates us from the driver and watch as the tinted glass shields us. “How else was I supposed to be able to do this?” I ask, sliding my hand up her bare thigh. My hand slides under her dress. Softly, I brush my fingers over her panties, teasing us both.

“Chase,” she murmurs. “Not sure if you’ve ever heard of pregnancy hormones, but if not, let me fill you in. You can’t control them. The smallest thing like seeing your baby daddy all snazzed up can set you off. This—” She bites down on her bottom lip as my thumb slides under the thin piece of lace and gently traces her clit. “—is not helping,” she pants.

“Let me help you,” I whisper, my lips close to her ear as I kiss down her neck. Slowly, painfully so, I continue to massage her clit. Her nails dig into my arm and her breathing grows heavy.

“C-Chase,” she murmurs. “He might hear us.”

“No, he won’t. Just let go, Gabs. Let me watch you fall apart in my arms.”

“I-I can’t,” she pants.

My lips find their way back up her neck and nip at her earlobe. “It’s just me, Gabby. No one else matters. Let go,” I say breathily.

It’s as if my words give her the freedom to do just that. Her grip grows tighter, her back arches off the seat, and a low moan releases from deep within her chest.

“I love you,” I whisper before pulling my hand from beneath her dress just as the limo pulls up in front of the restaurant. I climb out and offer her my hand, helping her step out. With my hand on the small of her back, I lead her into the restaurant where I give the hostess my name for our reservation.
