In the still of the night I hear the nails of her two protectors hitting the floor as they realize I snuck in the room and took their paramour. “Well you guys are so late.” I tease Hulk and Sol who are staring at me like I stole their chew toy. It's adorable really how much they love the baby. Not surprising though because from the moment the at home pregnancy test said positive, proving I nailed her on the first time, they have been underfoot with my wife, which has now extended to the baby.
“They are not late. They are right on time,” my wife says, walking into the room, with her swollen tits covered by the nursing pad. I am such a fucking dog myself because as exhausted and sore she still is from child birth, I can’t stop myself from drooling every fucking time she walks in the room.
“Did they wake you up?” I ask her, moving my arms so she can’t take the little one from my arms like a petulant child.
“They did. Sol came and nudged me, and Hulk stood by the crib showing me you were both missing,” Scowling when I finally hand the baby over, her silent cries a plea to drink from her mama’s achy nipples, I turn and look at my dogs.
“Traitors,” I tell them, before going over to the cabinet and throwing them both a treat. I might be a bit butt hurt, but they did the right thing. In a matter of minutes, Luz would be yelling down the house. Instead of being a man brat, I go sit on the couch beside my wife and pull her and our baby on my lap. “How are you feeling, baby girl?” She looks up at me and smiles, before nudging my cheek with her head.
“Tired. But I have never been happier.” Leaning down, I kiss our sweet girl's cheek and look back at my wife.
“Me either, baby. I don't know how to thank you for this precious gift you carried, nurtured and put in my arms. For the love and devotion you show me and for you utter trust. I will never be worthy of your love, wife, but I will forever endeavor to be. I love you so much. You and our princess.” Her eyes tear up in love. Something that used to freak me out but after watching her give birth, a few tears is nothing.
“Oh, babe you more than deserve my love. You own it. You gave me something I never thought I would have: A love that comes with freedom. You gave me the space and capability to find myself and make it the best version of me. You showed me that real love is patient, sexy, and filled with light and colors. You continue to help me make all of my dreams come true, including this beautiful little girl we have created. I love you both so much, Jude. Forever.” She snuggles into my chest, and I sigh, feeling all the love in this surrounding us. The dogs settle at our feet, and I look around at all I have and think: What more could a man ask for?
