“Okay, okay, I get it!” Autumn giggles, squirming. She stills, eyebrows drawing together, reaching for the phone I dropped, and staring at the cat. “Dammit, this is so cute.”
“I can pick it up at the weekend.”
“You spoil them rotten.” Autumn grins, turning off my phone and putting it on the arm of the couch. “I always thought you couldn’t possibly get more attractive…and then I saw you as a dad. The most attractive thing ever, seeing you be the best father alive.”
“Keep saying things like that and I’ll put another baby in you,” I warn, moving us in a tangle of blankets so that Autumn’s back is on the cushions and I’m looming over her between her legs.
Autumn’s smile stretches. She wraps her arms around my neck and arches up, parting her thighs and hooking her ankles around my back.
“I hope that’s a promise,” she teases.
“You know it is, sweetheart.”
