“Always ready for me.” He thrusts in and out. I moan my response, overtaken by the pleasure. My body is always ready for him. The second I spotted him in the doorway, I was already turned on. “No one hurts you,” he grits out between thrusts.
“No one,” I agree, my head dropping back. He yanks at the front of my dress, causing my breasts to spill free. He latches on to one of my nipples as he continues to work himself in and out of me.
His hand slips between us, his fingers going to my clit. “Give it to me,” he orders. “It’s mine.”
“Always!” I cry out as I come undone for him. He groans my name as he thrusts fully inside of me, his body stilling as his release fills me. He buries his face in my neck as we both try to catch our breath. Each and every time is always so intense between us.
“I love you.” He kisses my neck before he slowly starts to pull out.
“I love you too.” I grab his face. “I want this all to end today so we can move on with our lives.”
“All right,” he gives. “We do it your way. If that doesn’t work, then I’ll be handling it.”
“Deal,” I agree, hoping it doesn’t come to that. Jericho can be very intense. I’m not sure I would want to know what he would do if he had to, but honestly I don’t care. It only makes me feel safe and secure. That’s not something I’ve had most of my life.
Even with Michael, that sense wasn't fully there. Sure, he could provide for us. But with Jericho, I know that man will do anything it takes.
“I’ll get Asher.” He kisses me on the tip of my nose. We both release our holds on each other to fix our clothes. We manage to be out the door and at the park within twenty minutes. I set up an area to have a picnic.
“Sit here, baby.” I tell Asher, patting Jericho’s lap. Without hesitation, he drops down into his lap. I hand over one of his favorite books. “I’ll be back.”
“The bench is as far as you go,” Jericho reminds me again. We went over this a few times already and twice in the car on the short ride over to the park.
“You think I don’t know that there is a security guard over there?” I laugh. Jericho likes to be prepared. It doesn’t surprise me that he has extra eyes on me.
“I think you mean guards,” he says smugly, making me laugh. “She’s coming.” Jericho nods. I turn my head to see Christina heading across the park.
“I love my boys,” I say, kissing them both. I grab my purse and walk over towards the bench. Christina meets me there, but her eyes are on Asher the whole time.
“He looks just like Michael,” she half-whispers.
“He’s got your lips.”
“You think?” Her face jerks in my direction. I nod.
“Sit with me?” I drop down onto the bench. She follows suit, her eyes bouncing back to Asher before she shakes it off, steeling her back to sit up straight. She’s a beautiful woman. More put together than I will ever be. She’s become accustomed to a certain lifestyle.
“Did you bring the money?”
“I did.” I pull the folder out of my purse. “I brought a few other things too.” I tap the folder with my fingers. She narrows her eyes on it. “I always wished my mother would have just given me up.”
“What?” Her head snaps up from the folder to meet my gaze.
“I was an object really. One at times she’d have streaks of love for, but it never lasted. She’d work her way back into my life when it was convenient for her. More than a few times, she even had me pulled out of a new foster home and back living with her. I’d be there for a bit and then she’d drop me.” I let out a deep breath. “Every time I’d almost get a home, she’d be there to stop it. It was hell.” Tears sting my eyes at the memories of how unsettled my life was growing up.
“What happened in the end?” Her eyes roam up and down me, as if she’s trying to figure me out. I’m guessing she likely had no clue who I was. That she probably made something up in her mind.
“I ran. It was too much. Fourteen foster homes and almost seven adoption attempts. I couldn’t take it anymore. Thinking you're loved but you’re really not. All of it being ripped from your fingers year after year. I knew I was better off alone. So when I was sixteen, I took off.”
“I was in the system too.” Her eyes move back to Asher.
“I love that boy more than anything. It’s why I’m more than happy to give you this money. You gave me something that is priceless, but with that said, it will end here. You’ll take this money and then you’ll leave me and my family alone.”
