–and my nerves disappeared. It didn’t matter what the press thought. It didn’t matter what our friends thought. It didn’t even really matter what our families thought. I knew as surely as I’d known that I was meant to come to LA and be an actress that I was meant to be with this man and have this baby.
The group around the table erupted in applause and whistles. Noemi leapt up from her chair and nearly knocked me out of mine, wrapping her arms around me in a hug that was even tighter than usual. I realized that I’d been so busy looking up at Garrett that I’d missed the announcement.
“I’m so happy for you,” Noemi said into my hair. She squeezed me, and I could hear the tears in her voice. “For both of you.”
Over her shoulder, I saw Landon and Con laughing together. Julian was smiling affably. Dominic had a wry expression on his face. Andrew grinned and gave me a thumbs up when our eyes met. Then I met Garrett’s eyes, and the rest fell away. When Noemi finally let me go, I moved to his side and slid an arm around his waist. It was still strange and wonderful that I could do such a thing in front of everyone we knew and loved. I didn’t take it for granted.
