“I... I don’t want to drag you into this,” she whispers. “I’ve lost everything. My job, my apartment... I don’t have anything left, Nathan. I’m nothing.”
I shake my head, pulling her closer, my hands firm on her waist. “You’re everything to me.”
Her breath hitches, her body trembling as she leans into me, and I press my forehead against hers, the firelight casting soft shadows over her face. “I don’t care about what you’ve lost. I don’t care about your past. What I care about is you, right here, right now. You’re mine, Isabella. No one is ever going to hurt you again.”
She whimpers softly, her fingers clutching at my shirt as if she’s afraid I might disappear, but I won’t. I’m here. I’m not going anywhere.
I kiss her softly, my lips brushing against hers, but the kiss quickly deepens, turning into something more desperate. She needs me. She needs to know that she’s safe with me, that I’ll protect her from everything—even her own fears.
I pull her onto my lap, my hands sliding down her back, my fingers tracing the curve of her waist as I hold her against me. She’s so small, so delicate in my arms, and I want nothing more than to keep her here forever.
“You’re safe,” I whisper against her skin, my lips trailing down her neck. “You’re mine, and I’ll take care of everything.”
“Nathan...” she breathes, her voice shaky, and I can feel the tension in her body slowly easing as my hands move over her, caressing her gently.
“Shh...” I murmur, my hands sliding lower, brushing over the soft curve of her hips. “Let me help you relax, princess. Let me take care of you.”
She whimpers softly, her body melting into mine, and as I pull her closer, I know that I’ll do anything to keep her safe. Anything to make sure she never feels afraid again.
“You’re mine,” I whisper, my voice low and firm. “And I’ll make sure you always feel safe.”
Her breath is ragged, her fingers trembling as they clutch at my shirt, but I know she trusts me. She’s giving herself to me, and I’ll make sure she never regrets it.

Nathan leaves the room, the tension in his body unmistakable. He hasn’t said much since Ralph’s name slipped from my lips, but I know he’s furious. Not at me, but at the man who dared to make me feel afraid.
As I sit by the fire, the soft glow flickering over the room, I can’t help but feel the weight of it all pressing down on me. I never wanted to drag him into this mess, never wanted to be the girl who needed saving. But Nathan... he doesn’t seem to care. He’s taken it upon himself to handle it. To fix it.
When he returns, I can see the storm in his eyes has quieted, replaced by something steadier, more controlled. He’s carrying that same air of power, of dominance, that always leaves me breathless.
“It’s done,” he says, his voice low and rough. “Ralph won’t be bothering you again.”
My heart skips a beat. “What do you mean?”
He steps closer, his hands sliding into his pockets as his gaze locks on mine. “I have people taking care of it. He’ll be out of the picture.”
I stare at him, my mouth going dry. I knew Nathan was powerful, but this... this is something else. He handled it like it was nothing, like Ralph wasn’t even a problem. He took control in a way I never imagined.
“Wow,” I whisper, my voice barely audible. “You... you did that for me?”
His lips curve into a soft smile, but there’s a dangerous edge to it, something possessive. “Of course I did. You’re mine, Isabella. No one messes with you.”
A thrill runs through me at his words, and before I can stop myself, I feel the heat rising in my body, pooling low in my belly. I’m wet, turned on by his power, by the way he can fix my problems with just a word. It’s intoxicating.
“Nathan...” I murmur, standing up and stepping toward him. “I want to make you feel as good as you make me feel.”
He chuckles, shaking his head as he closes the distance between us. “Princess,” he whispers, his voice a low growl. “You’ve been through a lot. Let me take care of you first.”
Before I can protest, his hands are on me, slow and deliberate, as he pulls me closer. His touch is soft, careful, but there’s a strength behind it, a control that makes my heart race. He leads me to the plush rug in front of the fire, his eyes never leaving mine.
“Lie down,” he says softly, his hand guiding me down onto the rug.
I obey, my body trembling with anticipation as I settle onto my back, the warmth of the fire brushing over my skin. Nathan hovers over me, his fingers trailing over my bare arms, my sides, leaving a trail of heat in their wake.
