I sit up straighter, growing more sober by the second. My thong may be wet, and my damn nipples are tight buds, but I ignore my body’s reaction, fist my hands at my sides, and face him. He needs to learn a few things about me. “Look, I’ve had too much to drink, but I’m sobering up now. I get that you’ve claimed me or whatever, and I’m grateful because you have no idea what my fucked-up life looks like. You’re rescuing me. I don’t know anything about your planet, but unless you plan to torture me, I don’t really care what the fuck you do. I don’t even care if you intend to keep me as a sex slave. I’ve known you for like ten minutes, but you seem kind. Surely you aren’t going to rape me and sell me into sex trafficking.”
His eyes widen, and his jaw drops. He doesn’t say a word for a long moment. Finally, he pulls himself together and clears his throat. “You are now the most precious being in my world and will be for all the centuries we are alive. No one, including me, will ever lay a single hand on you in anger. I would never rape you or share you with another man. I want to know everything about you, including what on Earth happened to make you so mistrustful and upset. I will listen to every word and reassure you every single day that whatever you’ve been through is over now. I’d really like to wash the vomit off you first and give you some anti-nausea medicine. May I please?”
I stare at him hard. I think he’s sincere. He isn’t going to hurt me. I draw in a long breath. “I’d rather wash myself without you looking please.”
He shakes his head. “That part isn’t negotiable, Little one. I would never leave you unattended even for a moment.”
I sigh. “Perhaps we should at least exchange names?” I suggest.
He smiles. “Of course. How inconsiderate of me.” Still gripping my hip with one hand, he lifts the other to my cheek. “My name is Bialar. And you are?”
“Kendra. Nice to meet you.” There. At least we aren’t total strangers now, right?
God, his smile.
“Kendra… I love that name. It’s very pretty. Now, Kendra, my sweet Little girl, don’t think I didn’t notice two more curse words. That’s fifteen swats to your pretty bottom.”
He’s for real. “You said you wouldn’t hurt me.”
He chuckles. “Never. No one will ever injure you. I will spank your bottom to discipline you though. Not the same thing.”
I rock back and forth slightly, my ass clenching at the thought. I’ve never in my life been spanked. Never even thought about it. Why would I let this man spank me? And why am I fucking turned on? “What if I don’t want you to spank me?” I challenge.
He grins. “Then you won’t misbehave.”
I shudder. Misbehave? “I’m not a child.”
He glances down at…my chest. “I can see that, Kendra. You certainly aren’t a child, but from now on, you’re my responsibility and my life. I will do everything in my power to keep you safe and make you happy.”
“How does controlling my language keep me safe? I certainly won’t be happy if you dictate what words I can use and spank me like a child when I don’t comply,” I point out. My head is throbbing. I don’t want to argue, but this entire situation is surreal.
He slides both hands around to my lower back. We are inches apart. “Cussing is not something Little girls do on my planet, Kendra. You would be uncomfortable and not fit in with other females if you cursed. That would alienate you and make you unhappy. Trust me. So, yes, in a roundabout way, enforcing that rule is tied in with your happiness.”
I roll my eyes. “We’ll see.”
He eases back and reaches for the hem of my dress again. “May I wash you now?”
The thought of him seeing me naked is unnerving.
“You do realize your dress leaves very little to the imagination. You must have put it on hoping to draw attention to yourself. Why are you feeling shy about following through with your intentions?” He looks genuinely perplexed. “I assume you came to Club Zoom several times in the past month because you were hoping someone would choose you. I’ve never even seen you with the same friends each time.”
I suck in a breath. “You’ve been watching me.”
He nods. “Every single time.”
“Why didn’t you approach me earlier?”
He cringes.
I stare at him, wondering what he’s hiding from me. I wonder if perhaps I wasn’t his first choice, and someone else turned him down before he approached me. That thought hurts. I lower my gaze.
“Kendra…”
I sigh. “How many other women have you made this offer to?”
He jerks. “It doesn’t work that way, Baby girl.” His voice is soft and kind. “We don’t make offers. When we meet the right female, we claim her. It’s done. There was no one else. I promise. Give me your hand.”
