The lights flickered, as if they were coming back on… but it was only a tease. They remained in the dark, the candles still bouncing light, sweat dripping down and onto her body as he ravished her. She shuddered when he slipped his thumb into her ass, pounding her pussy simultaneously. The room began to spin, and song after song played until he’d broken her down to the point she was beyond gratified, and sexually delirious. Then, he suddenly yanked out of her, and she felt his velvety release.

“Uhhh! Uhhh!” The bed shook as he jerked his dick, draining his seed in fast spurts all over her ass cheeks and lower back.

Like a phantom with a big cape, he removed himself from her presence. The room was cloaked in shadows, and on his way to the restroom, he blew out one of the candles. She lay on the bed, using the little strength she had to roll over onto her back. Her pussy ached and pulsed from his beautiful intrusion. Thighs flopping open, she looked up at the ceiling, then at the big stained-glass windows. In the distance, she heard the water of his bathroom pouring, the plip plop of the rain filling the bucket, and the sounds of ‘Crimson and Clover,’ from Tommy James. Somewhere between the blue moon of Kentucky and the ‘keep on uh risin’,’ she fell asleep.

When she awoke, her sense of time was distorted, like a Salvador Dalí painting. Her body was weak yet satisfied, her mouth dry and her eyes weary. She was floating in a dream. Dense cigarette smoke filled the room, and she realized she was being watched from afar. Sitting up, she made out the outline of her beloved in the dark. Axel sat across the room, naked. His long, muscular limbs hung loosely as he sat in a chair, the moment Mazzy Star’s, ‘Fade into You’ started to play. She could hear him singing along to the lyrics, and bobbing his head to the beat.

Plip plop… plip plop…

“Aren’t you going to ask that I make you a sandwich since you laid it down on me so good?” she said between two yawns, a big smile on her face that she couldn’t erase even if she tried.

He grinned, tapped his cigarette in the ashtray, and shook his head. “If you can get up to walk your ass down the steps and over to the kitchen to make a sandwich, then I didn’t lay it down at all. You should be incapable of walkin’ right about now, and if by chance you still can, I’ll make sure to fix that.”

She stretched, grinning wide now.

“800, I gotta question for you.”

“Yeah?” She tucked her hair behind her ears and yawned again. “What is it?”

He took a drag of his cigarette, flopped back in his chair, then ran his hand through his hair, raking it away from his face. “What are you doing around this time, next year? Is your schedule open?”

She cocked her head to the side, not certain what to make of his question.

“What? Next year?” She shrugged. “I don’t know.”

He picked up a glass from a small table next to him, brought it to his lips, and swallowed whatever brown liquor was in it. Placing his cigarette in the ashtray, he casually stood up, stretched, and made his way over to the bed. He slid beside her, and she braced herself. If he was going for another round, she hoped her body could withstand it. She was sore all over, and it hurt so good.

Gliding his hand beneath her pillow, he pulled out a small burgundy box. Before she could process what was happening, he opened it, exposing a large diamond ring. Her heart throbbed.

Plip… Plop… plip… plop…

“I was hoping you’d be coming down the aisle toward me a year from now. So, is your calendar open or not?”

Wrapping his hand around the back of her neck, he brought her in for a kiss. Her body grew hot all over, and she fought tears of joy. Stomach knotted, she was riding a high of excitement and shock.

“Oh my God, Axel…”

“So, can I pencil you in for next year? Will you marry me, 800?” he whispered close to her ear. Good God…

“Yes! I’ll marry you!”

They brought their lips together, relishing the wetness of tongues while eager fingers roamed each other’s forms. He paused just long enough to slide the engagement ring on her finger. She barely had time to look at it before he snatched her, bent her over the bed, and knocked her knees apart. Grasping the sheets while the sun peeked through the stained-glass windows, she let loose her screams of elation and lust…
