The knowledge that he’s watching me pushes me over the edge. I come with a cry, my body shuddering against the cool glass. Through half-lidded eyes, I see Jack’s face, open and ravenous.
For a moment, we stay frozen like that, separated by a thin pane of glass yet intimately connected.

As I catch my breath, I see Jack motion for me to open the window. With trembling hands, I unlatch it and slide it up. The cold night air rushes in, raising goosebumps on my flushed skin.
Jack climbs through gracefully, his eyes never leaving mine. Once inside, he cups my face in his hands and kisses me deeply. I melt into him, savoring the taste of champagne and desire on his lips.
