“Good morning, baby girl.”
“Da-da, up!” This is a change. Most of the time, she likes to laze around. It seems both of my girls are hungry this morning.
“Are you ready for a smoothie?” I ask her.
“Yes.” She drags out the s. I pick her up, carrying her to the kitchen to the other two women who stole my heart with just one look. This right here is where my world is, in a kitchen with my girls still waking up for the day. Sometimes it’s a rough morning, other times are like today, but I wouldn’t change a thing. This is where I’m meant to be, here with them, and in the next month or so, we’ll be adding our last one. We decided three were plenty once we found out this one is going to be a boy.
“You okay?” Peyton asks me, her bowl of cereal under her chin as she chomps down.
“Never better, baby, never better.” I move closer to her side and look around at the beautiful life we created. And I know the best is yet to come.
