“Oh hell, Noah. Please.” He chuckles and blows on my clit.
“You are going to detonate as soon as my tongue touches you, aren’t you?”
“Yes. I’m so achy.” I am. Everywhere.
“Oh God.” I keen when his finger enters me right before his tongue splits the lips of my pussy and he slides it up and down. “Yes. Right there, Noah. Right there.” I grip his hair and pull him further into me before I cry my release.
“That’s my girl. So much sweetness for me and only me.” He lifts me into his arms and lays me on the bed. “Are you excited for today?”
“I am more excited for tomorrow.” It’s true. See, three years ago after we left my parents house, we went to the courthouse forty-eight hours later and got married. I wanted the big wedding and all the pomp and circumstance, but, right then and there, I wanted him first. So, he promised me if I eloped with him, the day after graduation he would give me the wedding of my dreams. That day is tomorrow. Maybe I can sleep through the graduation. It turned out okay because four weeks after getting married we found out I was pregnant with Holly and I wanted to focus on being the best mother I could.
“Have you come up with a decision.” he kisses my head.
“Yeah. I want to stay home. Be a mom. I don’t want to miss anything.” I have been going back and forth on whether I want to teach or be a stay-at-home mom. Having Molly changed me. It made me stronger. Suddenly, I had this tiny human depending on me to protect her and I want to be available to do that.
“Very well, baby. Now, let’s go get you graduated, so you can remarry me tomorrow.''
I would remarry him everyday for the rest of my life.
“Oh my gosh, Jinny. Look at you,” Sassy says, wiping her eyes.
“You look gorgeous and radiant,” Scarlett says, making sure my dress is on right. I turn from the mirror and look at all my besties, and I feel happy and blessed.
I rub my hand over the bump and admire myself in the mirror. Once I stopped allowing people to tell me who I am and not, I found my inner peace and it shows. Happiness looks good on me.
“Are you ready?” My mom peeks her head into the bridal suite. “Oh my word,” she says with her hand on her mouth. “My darling girl, you look beautiful.”
“Thank you, Mama.” I am fighting back the tears, trying not to mess up my makeup. She eventually decided once Holly was born, that she wanted to be a grandmother more than she wanted to be a wife. She left my father and moved closer to us.
Putting my veil over my head, I turn and look at all the crying faces of my best friend's and my mom and I couldn’t feel calmer. my bridesmaids lead me out of the room. I trail them, walking towards my husband. When I reach him, he takes my hand and we walk the rest of the way to the altar.
“You look gorgeous, sweetness.” He kisses my cheek before tucking my arm in his.
“Thank you babe.” The music starts and we walk into the backyard. It is a cool, but warm April day and waiting for me in the sunshine, standing at the tiny altar, in an all white suite, his eyes glowing with love and anticipation.
My wedding is small. I wanted it that way. There is only my family, his parents and sister, my best friends/bridesmaids.
Making it to the front, he puts both his hands on my swollen belly. “How is our son?” Warmth spreads through me, engulfing me in his love, like it always does when he touches me.
“He is fine. Busy today. I think he knows it is a special day.” I tell him giggling. His thumb brushes against my cheek.
“That is because today, I get to recommit my love for you and our family. In front of everyone who loves us, precious. I get to tell them that you are my everything. My light. My truth. My heart. My hearth and my home. You are my forever, baby.”
With those words we say our vows, but the truth is, we have been saying them everyday for the last three years. Just like we will for the rest of our lives.
Forever.
EPILOGUE
NOAH
SEVEN YEARS LATER
Ten years with the love of my life has brought us many things. Four kids: Holly, Nick, Rudolph, and Carol light up our lives. I had gone down to part time adjunct professor, but now that all the kids are in school, I’m back up to full time. Over the years, I’ve gotten close with her Super Squad and their husbands. Every once in a while, one of them will show up, their husband and kids in tow and we make a long weekend out of it. It’s nice.
