Thoughts of my dad were twined with thoughts of Buck, and with worries about telling Griff and Kellan, but also the urgency to hurry up and do so. I was ready to have it out there, to stop hiding. Griff deserved to know. Kellan and I owed him that—I owed him that. And I wanted to make sure he understood there had never been a damn thing in my life that felt as good as calling Kellan mine. Being with him somehow helped everything, like it had last night.
His stomach growled, and I chuckled as he rolled over and said sleepily, “Feed me, Chase.”
“Someone’s getting a little bossy,” I teased.
Kellan kissed my neck, my chest. “Please feed me, Chase.”
“Like I could ever say no to you.” I swatted his ass and rolled out of bed.
I made pancakes, which we ate together, and then we jumped in the shower.
Afterward, with a towel firmly wrapped around my hips, I grabbed my razor and shaving cream.
“Can I do it?” Kellan asked, and I cocked a brow at him. “Please?”
I nodded, and Kellan hopped up on the bathroom counter. I stood between his legs, my hands on his hips. He was still naked, and it was hard not to play with his cock, but I was good as he lathered my face with shaving cream and began to clean up my scruff.
“I’ve never shaved someone else before,” Kellan admitted.
“I’ve never let anyone shave me before, so I guess we’re having a first together.”
“Aw, who knew Chase Hawthorne was so sweet?” he teased as he finished up, then set the razor down. I leaned in, rubbing the extra shaving cream all over his face. Kellan laughed and playfully tried to fight me off, and we ended up kissing.
“Ew. I’m eating this stuff, and it’s not very good,” he said when I pulled away.
“Sorry, baby boy.” I pressed a quick kiss to his lips again, and he jumped down from the counter. I rinsed my face off, and had just tugged on a pair of jeans—Kellan was already in his—when a banging sound came from the front door.
Our eyes caught, held on, and I think we knew, we somehow both fucking knew it was Griff and he’d found out about us.
“Shit,” I cursed and headed out of my room, Kellan right behind me.
“Chase… I…”
“It’s fine, okay?” I cupped his cheek. “We’ll figure it out. I’m not going anywhere, no matter what.” I didn’t want him to think this would end. That even if Griff didn’t understand, even if I lost him, I wouldn’t walk away from Kellan. Not now.
He nodded and stepped aside as I opened the door. The second I did, Griff’s angry face was there, and then a fist was flying through the air, connecting with my jaw and making pain explode there. I stumbled backward. Christ, that hurt.
“Griffin! What the hell?” Kellan shouted as I wiped the blood off my mouth with my hand.
“You feel better now?” I asked.
“Fuck you, Chase.”
“We were going to tell you. I was going to tell you when we went fishing.”
“Tell me what? That you’re taking advantage of my brother? What the hell is this, Hawthorne? What the fuck are you doing to him, and who in the hell did you piss off to drag Kellan into it?”
Huh? None of his words were making sense. Not really.
Griff shoved something against my chest. A piece of paper fell from his hand and landed face up on the floor. My heart stopped. My vision went blurry as rage coursed through me.
My eyes snagged on Kellan, stared at him as he looked at the photograph on the floor. It was of us—last night in my room, Kellan naked and in cuffs on his knees. He was partly in shadow, so you couldn’t see his whole body, but it was obvious he was naked, his face buried in my underwear-covered groin.
“Oh God,” Kellan said. “Oh God, oh God, oh God.”
My hands tightened into fists as I began to tremble with fury. “Where did you get this?”
I ripped the photo off the floor. There was no denying who it was, but I didn’t give a shit about myself. It was Kellan I worried about.
“This one? It was on my doorstep, my fucking doorstep, Chase, but that’s not the worst of it. They’re all over town, taped onto doors and windows and buildings. I spent all morning tearing them down. I can’t fucking believe you did this to him. Not you. Goddamn it, Chase! Not you.”
“Do you think I’m not pissed too? I fucking hate that anyone has seen Kellan like this. That they’ve taken an intimate moment, in my home, with my boyfriend, and used it against us like this.”
“Your boyfriend?” Griff seethed. His fists were tight, and I thought he was going to hit me again. “He’s your fucking boyfriend now? You don’t do relationships, and now you’re in one with my little brother? You went home with Bec not too long ago!” Griff turned to look at Kellan. “Come on, Kell. Let’s go home. We’ll figure this shit out.”
