I inhaled deeply, loving the way that she smelled and felt against me.

“I want to know how long you’ve had him, what you’ve done to make him suffer, and whether I can come watch next time you decide to beat him up,” she grumbled.

That’s when I burst out laughing.

Either the sound or the length of time she’d been passed out, was enough to cause Sareen to stir.

“I’m going to put you both in jail,” Sareen hissed.

The thought was honestly laughable.

After everything that she’d done over the last few days, or hell, even months, did she honestly think that she could turn this around?

Because, from my vantage point, not only did I have the upper hand in her being on my territory, but I also had her over a barrel with all the evidence I’d collected on not only her stalking habits but her extra-curricular activities. Which, you know, included murdering someone.

BANGER

“Listen, you crazy ass bitch,” I snarled at the woman. “I don’t ride the crazy train. I conduct the motherfucker. So either you get out of here right now, and go find one of those nice motorcycle club members to escort your murdering ass to the police station where you’ll confess to everything, or I show you why I ran my father’s bar for the last ten years.”

Easton picked me up and set me on my feet before he positioned himself in such a way that he could protect me if Sareen decided to make a move.

Luckily, she could either see the promise of a threat in my eyes, or she knew that she wasn’t getting out of this unscathed this time, because she stood up and headed toward the other room where I could see the other MC members loitering.

All of them were very much aware of everything that was going on, but they were giving us the space to do what we wanted.

Which, right now, it was to have her out of my sight.

I didn’t have much fight left in me to stay away from her.

To not beat the absolute crap out of her until she understood how heartbroken I was over the loss of my father.

“Does Salem know that I’m okay?” I asked curiously.

Easton caught my hand and said, “She’s aware, I think. I had one of the boys call her when I was on my way here. She may already be here by now.”

He led me out of the building the back way, making it to where I didn’t go through the throng of MC members, or pass by Sareen again.

Obviously, he was more than aware of what might happen if he did.

When we got outside, I took a curious look around now that I could see more clearly.

“Were you ever going to tell me?” I whispered, looking at the building where my brother was housed as if it was containing a mythical beast and not a human being.

“No,” Easton said bluntly. Honestly. “I wasn’t. Nor was I ever going to let you know that I killed the man that held you captive.”

My head whipped around.

I stared at Easton, curious if what he was saying was true.

I was also wondering if the relief that coursed through me made me a bad person.

“What?” I rasped.

“You heard me correctly,” he said. “At first, I was going to make sure that he spent the rest of his life in prison. But then I decided that wasn’t good enough. He had to leave this planet for me to ever even consider pursuing you. So… I made it happen.”

I had no idea what to say to that, other than, “Awww, that’s so sweet!”

CHAPTER 25

The dishes are looking at me dirty again.

-Easton’s secret thoughts

EASTON

I’d never intended to tell her about O’Ryan.

In fact, I’d never intended to let her know the depth of my stalkerish behaviors at all, yet every single ‘intention’ I’d ever had when it came to Banger never panned out like I thought it would.

And I realized, then and there, standing on the steps of the house that would house O’Ryan for the rest of his life, that the one woman I would’ve been worried about finding out about it, was completely okay with it.

It was… exhilarating.

“How did she find this place?” she whispered.

That, I’d found out, about two seconds into my drive over to the place we kept O’Ryan. Mostly, it was sloppiness. We’d allowed her to follow us. Then, we’d allowed the security to slip for one single instant in time, leaving her the opportunity to learn what we did at said place.

“A fuck up on our part,” I said. “She followed one of us here. You can see her pass by on a security camera once. And last week, when the power was down for the entire grid, we think is when she accessed this place to learn what was here.”
