Really crazy about them.

It had been Theo who’d figured put two and two together about where we could live for the fall semester. Right now, we were renting, but he and Grant intended to put in an offer soon.

Ian and I couldn’t chip in much. Not that they’d let us. And that was all right. I’d learned that you did things for people you loved.

And you also let them do things for you.

The place had two bedrooms, and that was enough for us. The biggest bed was in my room, and each night I had a different roommate. A different bedmate, that was. And some nights, I had more than one.

The only problematic thing with our current setup was that even weeks after we’d moved in, we were still finding golden retriever hairs everywhere. Professor Whitmore and Sunny had moved out, but Sunny’s spirit still lived on in dust bunnies and the corners.

Grant teased that he knew a pretty young thing who could cook and clean. And when I’d ask him what the job paid, he’d list a wide array of sexual favors—all of which I’d tried in the past month.

Some more than once.

Ian came home from class, and I walked to the entryway to kiss him. That was another great thing about our new setup. I could kiss whoever I wanted, whenever I wanted.

Grant and Theo were watching a game, and in a few minutes, Theo and I would start dinner.

Somehow, we were making this work. It was amazing what could happen when you started living life your own way instead of how other people thought you should.

I couldn’t help but smile as I looked around the light and airy apartment. In another month or two, Professor Whitmore would have her living room furniture to be shipped out. Theo already had a ton of ideas about how we’d make the space our own. All Grant had said was that he wanted a sofa big enough for all four of us.

I agreed.

Just as I was about to go sit on the current, too-small sofa between two of my guys, my phone rang.

Fishing it out of my pocket, I frowned at it. It was Tori, and it was an actual call, not a text. Our generation didn’t do that, though.

I went into the bedroom and closed the door so that I could hear her. “Hello?”

“Hailey?”

“What’s wrong? Is Todd making you look at his baby pictures again?” Evidently, he thought that was a charming thing to do.

“No. No, it’s not that.”

My friend sounded awful, and I regretted making a joke. “What’s wrong?”

“I-I went in my bedroom after class and… and… Hailey, there was a camera in my room. He set up a camera in there, pointed at my bed.” She started crying.

Oh shit. “Are you safe? Did you leave?”

“No, I locked myself in the bathroom. But he could be home any minute.”

“Stay in there. Keep the door lock. And don’t come out until I call you and tell you I’m there.”

“You’ll come? Right now?”

“Of course. And I’m bringing three of the strongest men I know.”

“And you trust them?”

“With all my heart.”
