Jude reached down to grab his cock, and Snow’s eyes half-shut at the eroticism of watching Jude touch himself. “That’s it,” he breathed. “Touch yourself.”
Jude clenched his ass and Snow let out a cry and fell forward, bracing his hands on either side of Jude. “Do that again.”
“Agh,” Jude breathed as he tightened around Snow again and again.
Snow couldn’t stop the hoarse cries spilling from his throat. “I’m going to come,” he warned.
“Do it. I want to feel you come inside me.”
Snow came so hard and fast, he grew dizzy. He threw his head back, every muscle in his body going taut as he spilled into Jude, the flood of pleasure overwhelming. Jude’s hand sped up, his knuckles bumping into Snow’s stomach and Snow abruptly pulled out of him and hurried down to suck Jude into his mouth. The soft head of Jude’s dick hit the back of his throat, and he tightened his suction, bobbing his head slowly, then quickly. He sucked hard, three years of experience letting him know it would send Jude over.
Jude roared and came, spilling on his tongue. Snow swallowed and licked him clean, then fell to the side, sprawled on his back, one leg thrown over Jude’s. “Fuck,” he whispered, his heart racing wildly in his chest.
“Yeah,” Jude whispered, his voice raspy. “Holy hell, General.”
“Feel better?”
“I don’t feel anything right now.” His chuckle was warm and low. “You blew my mind.”
“Good. That was the plan.”
Jude rolled over and pulled him close, slinging his arm and leg over Snow. “How did I get so lucky?”
“I don’t know about that.” For some reason, the one major issue they had came to Snow’s mind. The one about kids. But he kept it to himself because he didn’t want to ruin the mood. Instead he wrapped his arm around Jude and looked him over. He looked a little better. Worn out, but that was to be expected.
“We’re going to figure out what’s going on with your brother. I know it.”
“We have to. I can’t lose him.”
It wasn’t long before Jude went heavy with sleep, and Snow was glad he’d been able to give Jude some modicum of relief. The man needed to sleep. He was bottling up so many heavy emotions lately, he’d felt ready to collapse earlier. So, the sound of his heavy breaths and the weight of his arm lulled Snow into sleep with him.
Chapter 7
Jude stumbled through the hospital, feeling like his brain was trapped in a fog. It had started early, barely even five in the morning, when he got a call from Carrick that Jordan’s temperature had spiked during the night. He’d rushed to the hospital with Snow to find that the doctors thought Jordan might have developed an infection, and they were starting him on a new course of antibiotics. They mentioned that they might have to go back in, that maybe something had been missed during his first surgery, though nothing was showing up on any of his X-rays or scans.
Hours passed with no news, even with Snow sneaking into the ICU to access his chart. Jordan’s temperature didn’t start to creep down until late afternoon, showing that the antibiotics were finally doing their job. Jude felt drained. There was no trying to talk his mother into going home for some real sleep. Carrick had left an hour ago, but only because Rebecca had threatened to drug him and stash him in a supply closet so he could get some sleep. She was still in the family room with his mother. Currently she had her tablet out, and she was going through a bunch of silly BuzzFeed quizzes to determine which princess his mana was and which Hollywood hunk was her perfect match. It was all nonsense, but for at least a few minutes his mana was giggling and not thinking about her youngest son clinging to life.
Fuck…he didn’t know what he’d do without Rebecca. If he’d been even a little straight and not crazy in love, he would have made a pass at her. Carrick was damn lucky.
Rubbing his eyes as he walked, Jude was shuffling off to the cafeteria for more coffee and something with a little protein. He’d not eaten yet. He needed to grab something for his mother as well. She’d eat if Rebecca needled her into it.
Snow had been swept off to the ER to consult on a case that had just come in. He hated the guilty look in his lover’s eyes, but the surgeon could at least do more good for the poor injured person than he could sitting around in the family room waiting for news like the rest of them.
The normal sounds of the hospital barely permeated his consciousness any longer. People rushed around him, moving patients and equipment from one place to another. Every once in a while, he’d encounter a familiar face who would offer their sympathy, but for the most part, the hospital was so big that he was just another weary person waiting for good news while preparing for the worst.
