She really was beautiful. She captured my eyes from the first moment I saw her, and I knew the others were surprised to have such a gorgeous client to look after. It certainly made it a little harder to focus on the task at hand. I never had trouble when it came to keeping my mind on the job until she came into the picture with her vibrant smile and sharp attitude.

I brushed a strand of her hair away from her face, tucking it behind her ear. She stirred slightly, her lips parting gently. My forefinger lightly traced the curve of her bottom lip before I drew my hand away. I didn’t want to wake her up. She needed the rest.

I left the bedroom and cracked the door just as Andrew walked in from the back porch. I nodded to him, and he copied the motion as we met in the living room in front of the fireplace.

“She seems fine,” I told him. “Fast asleep.”

Andrew’s eyes darted to her bedroom door before shooting down to the floor in front of him. He nodded, seeming tenser than usual.

“Yeah, she’s… pretty tired,” he said.

I cracked a small smile and nudged him, trying to get him to relax a little. The attack was scary, but we saved her and took her somewhere safe. We were okay for right now, and I didn’t want us to be tense in front of Emery. She was probably freaked out enough.

“What? Did she chew you out?” I laughed lightly.

Andrew forced a laugh as he nodded.

“Oh, yeah. Things got… intense,” he said as he peered at Emery’s door. His fingers flexed before forming fists, and he shifted on the spot like he was uncomfortable having to stand there.

I started to frown, realizing that there was something serious on his mind. I didn’t need the leader of our group to be distracted. Danger was lurking where we couldn’t see, and we had a young, innocent woman to protect.

“What’s wrong, Andrew? Did something happen?” I asked him as I placed my hand on his shoulder.

Andrew let out a sigh as he looked at me.

“I had sex with her,” he blurted out. “It was her first time… but… I don’t know.”

My eyes grew wide uncontrollably. I could restrain my actions for the benefit of others, but I couldn’t shake the shock I felt. I drew my hand away from him.

“When did this happen?” I replied, feeling jealousy churn in my stomach. I didn’t want to feel that way, but I couldn’t ignore how beautiful Emery was and it didn’t help that I was around her so much. I saw her in her little moments and in her big ones, and I liked how she was past the wall she put up.

“When we arrived at the cabin. We were arguing and the next thing I know I’m kissing her,” Andrew said as he folded his hands behind his head. “I broke my own rule.”

“Have you told the others?” I asked. I had a feeling the others would feel how I felt, but I didn’t hold anything against Andrew. I knew how hard it was to resist Emery, and at least she felt comfortable with him. I couldn’t be mad at that, even if I wished it was me kissing her and caressing her all over.

Andrew shook his head as he lowered his hands.

“Not yet, but I will,” he said.

“What now?” I questioned. Things would probably be different now.

Andrew shrugged.

“I don’t know, but I’m going to focus on the job. She’s still in danger,” he replied before heading toward the front door of the cabin. “The others should be arriving soon.”

My eyes trailed him as he walked outside to stand on the front porch. I wondered how Emery felt about losing her virginity to one of her bodyguards. Did she plan it? Did he make her finish?

Heat stirred low in my stomach as I pictured the arch of her back, the moans she would’ve released. I swallowed hard and released the breath I had been holding. Once Andrew told the others, things would certainly grow tense in the cabin, and I couldn’t help but wonder if it would eventually hit a breaking point.

EMERY

Iwoke up slowly the next day, my eyes feeling weighed down and heavy. I rubbed them gently, coaxing them open to gaze at the window in the bedroom that allowed a few rays of early morning sunlight through the grey curtains. It took a second for my memory to jog itself, but the soreness in my body soon reminded me of yesterday’s events.

I was attacked and ruthlessly tossed around until my bodyguards saved me and whisked me away to some cabin in the middle of the woods. I couldn’t skip over the most important part of the events, though. I lost my virginity.
