He nodded, taking my hand as we walked toward the door of the restaurant. “Yeah, it’s a very easygoing area.”
He wasn’t exaggerating.
We’d have to have been doing something a lot more interesting than holding hands before anyone noticed. Sometimes it was nice but sometimes it was odd. Like when my neighbor thought he should be allowed to check the mail in just a thong that he kept saying was a bathing suit.
I wasn’t sure what he was doing in his apartment to always be wearing a bathing suit of any kind, but sometimes I dreamed about moving out to an area with a judgmental HOA that made everyone keep their clothes on in public.
As we made our way inside and were seated, we exchanged small talk that was simple and appropriate for the audience that was around us, but once we sat down, the mood shifted. Master Jared’s eyes scanned the area and must’ve decided our table was private enough with only one other possibly gay couple in our line of sight because his eyes sparkled with mischief as he shifted closer in the already small booth.
Just that one look was enough to have me hard and wondering what he would do. For the time being that seemed to be nothing. It was beyond frustrating, but when something about the way his fingers started caressing his silverware had me wanting to squirm, I decided it might just be me being insane.
“I don’t think you mentioned what you did for a living?” Leaning back on the bench as I did my best to pay attention to his question, I knew he’d look perfectly normal from the waiter’s perspective when he came back, but I got a wonderful view of his hard cock pressing against his pants…which just had me getting harder.
“I…” What had the question been? “I…”
It took a second to force my eyes away from his lap, and once I did, I wished I was still obsessing over his dick. Dicks were much more fun than what people always thought of my job and I still hadn’t seen his yet, so it was a fun mystery.
It was like that Schrodinger’s cat thing. It was big and sexy, and small and plain all at the same time.
Science was fun.
“I’m the executive assistant to the head of a lobbying group that does work for children.” Sitting up straighter, I braced myself for the incoming why are you just a secretary question that always followed my answer.
But Master Jared was always a surprise. “That sounds like very fulfilling work, and you must be really well organized.”
As I sat there stunned, his lips turned up in a wicked smirk. “Should I apologize for immediately picturing you in a pencil skirt bending over for your naughty boss?”
I probably shouldn’t have laughed but I couldn’t help it. “My boss is a sixty-year-old woman who’s the embodiment of an old battle ax. So that would just be a fun fantasy.”
His grin widened. “So what you’re saying is that I don’t have to apologize and I should figure out your skirt size for later? Got it.”
He wouldn’t?
When he didn’t laugh at my startled expression, I blushed and that just had his wicked look growing more intense.
He definitely would.
Since I wasn’t sure how to respond to that, I grasped for something else to say. “It does take a lot of organizational skills. I like my job.”
Subtle. Very subtle.
Eyes sparkling, Master Jared nodded. “I think being detail-oriented and very focused can be wonderful qualities in a variety of areas of your life.”
It wasn’t hard to guess his meaning, but I tried not to squirm or blush. As much as I liked attention and being watched, this wasn’t the place for it. “I…well, yes.”
His low chuckle said I hadn’t managed to look as relaxed as I wanted to, but this was Master Jared and something about him made it impossible. “Should I stop teasing you while we’re out so we can get to know each other easier?”
Oh, that sounded terrible.
I pouted and shook my head before I could even think about how ridiculous I must’ve looked. The heat in his eyes said he wasn’t thinking about laughing, though. “Use your words, pet.”
Heat flooded through me, but I managed not to do anything obviously naughty as I slipped my hands under my thighs and pinned them against the bench. “Please don’t stop teasing me, Sir.”
As his head dipped in a nod, his eyes focused on my hands and his sexy smirk came back. “Thank you for remembering the rule and being a good boy.”
Pride and pleasure and a rush of crazy emotions sparked through me as I desperately tried to get words out without moaning. “I…I remembered the rules we talked about, Sir.”
All of them.
Including the one he’d teased me with at the end of the night when he’d walked me out to my car. No coming until our date. God, just thinking about it made me hard…well, harder. I’d been an aching mess since Saturday night and even though it was only Tuesday, it felt like the slightest brush of his hand would make me come.
