“You’re a troublemaker. Look at you, trying to get out of the rules. David will still be strict about certain things, like your health.” It was so strange but also…right, how those kinds of things just flowed off my tongue now.
“What about you? Aren’t you going to get all dominant on me sometimes? You and David have been discussing it.”
“Yes.” Which I wanted. I’d done it a little, and I wanted to do it more, but I was still afraid I wouldn’t be good at it.
“You should be in charge today while Daddy is at work. It helps…when I don’t have to think about things.”
I leaned forward and kissed his forehead. “Yeah, it helps me too. Get up. We’ll shower. You can blow me, and then we’ll go to the center. After that, you’re going to work with me on the house—I’ll find some things you can do—and then, if you’re good, we can go to the store.”
I waited to see if he would laugh, but he didn’t, simply said, “Yes, Ian.”
We did exactly that. We got in the shower, and Jordan got on his knees for me. Afterward, we had a quick breakfast, then went to the center. We helped out for a while before heading to the house.
Jordan didn’t like manual labor the way I did, but if he was anything like me, doing something would help distract him from the things weighing on his mind.
The house had an actual brick fireplace, and I had Jordan paint it white because we were trying to lighten up the space. We took care of a few other things too, and he always listened to what I told him to do. When he finished one responsibility, he would ask, “What else should I do, Ian?” which made my chest feel full and goose bumps spread along my skin. As much as I liked submitting to David, this was incredible too.
When we were done, we went to the store. David had left his car with us and taken a car service. He wanted to buy a vehicle for us to share, but neither Jordan nor I were going for that. It had surprised me that Jordan had been even more adamant than me. David did enough for us already.
I let Jordan get ingredients for only one recipe, though he wanted more, and while I enjoyed having that control over him, in the back of my mind I couldn’t help wondering if I was doing it the way David would. It was weird how I could like both parts of it so much.
“Will you, um…teach me how to make this cake?” I asked when we got home, and you would have thought I’d handed Jordan the world. He was so easy to make happy. He just wanted to feel loved, and there was nothing like the feeling of giving that to him.
“Yeah, of course.”
We made the cake together. I was a bit of a mess, but he liked it, I thought. When we finished, I said, “Take off your clothes.” My voice shook.
“Yes, Ian.”
Then I took his hand and led him to the couch. We lay down together and cuddled. He wrapped his arms around me, buried his face in my chest. “I’m sorry, Sunshine.”
“It’s just… I know it’s not like she disowned me or anything, but it’s still hard. For the first time in my life, I have someone who loves me, who takes care of me, and the only other person who has done that doesn’t approve. I don’t want to lose David—I won’t—but I also hate disappointing her.”
I rubbed his back, kissed the top of his head. “I know. Maybe you and I can talk to her together. I know David has offered, but maybe it would be different coming from us?” I would feel weird doing it. That so wasn’t my kind of thing, but I would do it for Jordan.
“Maybe,” he replied.
David got home a little while later. He smiled at the two of us, and my heart stumbled, then soared. Jordan scrambled off the couch and threw himself into David’s arms. Sir kissed him and stroked his back and didn’t complain that we had cake before dinner.
That night, we watched a movie in bed. When Jordan fell asleep between us, David looked at me and said softly, “We need to talk.”
We went downstairs together and made a plan.
CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT
Jordan
Go upstairs, please. Get yourself cleaned out if you need it, shower, then kneel naked in the living room and wait for us to get home.
I read over Daddy’s text for the tenth time. I’d already done what he said and was waiting by the coffee table for him and Ian to get home. The only thing was, I’d been there for thirty minutes and had no idea when I could expect them back.
