Khloe gasped as he stepped inside. “I don’t understand.”

“This is your room, Little one. A place to relax and play. I tried to fill it with things your sister said you would like, but you’re welcome to add to it. I want this to be a haven for you. A space where you can totally let your guard down.”

“It’s a baby nursery,” she murmured.

“And you’re my Baby girl,” he reminded her as he let her slide down his body before setting her on her feet. She was naked except for the diaper, and she was adorable.

It seemed she was also growing more comfortable with her nudity. She wandered around the room slowly, taking everything in without saying a word about her exposed breasts.

Felix crossed over, opened the closet, and stepped back to let her see the contents.

Khloe’s breath hitched and her eyes widened as she joined him. Her fingers looked so tiny as she reached up to stroke them over the fabric of one of the dresses. “I love yellow.”

“I know, Little one.” He chuckled. Half of the dresses in this closet were some shade of yellow. Half the room was yellow, too.

“Do you want me to wear these in the house?” she asked, looking up at him.

“You’ll wear pretty dresses like these most of the time. This is how Little girls who are mated to Alpha Protectors dress, Baby girl.”

She jerked her gaze back to the row of dresses. “They’re so short.”

“Yep. You’ll never be covered from head to toe with layers of clothing again, Little one. It will feel odd at first when I dress you in colorful dresses that barely cover your bottom and leave your arms exposed. You’re not used to such revealing clothing, but you’ll grow accustomed to it quickly.”

“You want me to wear these tiny dresses even when we leave the house?”

“Yes, Baby girl. I promise you would feel very strange among the other Little girls if you were dressed differently.”

She started giggling. “My sister must be ecstatic. She hated the boring long dresses we wore for twenty years.”

“I know.” He smiled, once again pleased by his mate’s response.

“Can I wear one now?”

“Yes, Little one. You pick.”

She hesitated a moment. “You’re going to let me pick?”

He chuckled. “Sometimes I will give you options, Little one. You may wear whatever dress you’d like.”

She beamed as she slowly slid them across the pole, looking at each one of them. “They are so pretty. It’s hard to choose.”

“You have your entire life to wear them. If you want to, you can change every hour to try them all out,” he teased.

“Can I?” She glanced at him.

“Yes.” He bent down to pick her up because he couldn’t stand going another moment without touching her. Holding her against his side, he started moving the hangers across the rod for her. “Yellow?”

“Yes, Daddy.”

“How about this one?” he suggested because it seemed she was having trouble deciding.

“That one is perfect. It’s so pretty.”

He removed it from the hanger, settled her back on her feet, and held it up. “Arms up, Baby girl.” He lowered it over her head and down her arms before smoothing the front down. It was a shiny satin, yellow dress with tiny lace flowers along the hem and short sleeves. It was delicate and adorable and suited her perfectly.

“It’s so fancy,” she said as she spun around.

“I will admit, the dresses in your closet are probably fancier than the average Little girl living in the mountains. I might have gone overboard. Leah told me she thought you would like prettier things than some girls.”

“It’s beautiful.”

Leaving her barefoot, he took her hand and led her out of the nursery and back through their bedroom, aiming for the bathroom. When he angled her toward the mirror and opened a drawer, she gasped. “What’s all this?”

He chuckled. “Pretty hair bobbles.”

She picked up a pair of yellow bows. “Can I try them? Do you have a brush?”

He opened another drawer that was equally filled with hair products for his Little girl and pulled out a brush. When she reached for it, he held it out of range. “Daddy will fix your hair.”

She giggled. “You can do hair?”

“Yep. I’m a trained professional. I promise,” he teased. He slowly brushed out her long hair, careful not to pull too hard before parting it down the middle and gathering one side into a high pigtail.

She giggled again. “I haven’t worn pigtails since I was a toddler.”

“Now you will do so again. Sometimes I will braid it.” He secured the pigtail with a band and added the bright yellow bow.

She was grinning while he did the other one, and when he finished, she stared at herself, running her hands down the long lengths of hair that now hung over her shoulders. She met his gaze in the mirror. “The other mates wear their hair like this?”
