Giving her a look that silently asked if she was serious, I replied, “Because you said it was a mistake, Georgie. You said you’d regret giving up your virginity to a guy like me.”

“Georgiana. My name is not Georgie, it’s Georgiana.”

“I’ve always called you that. Why do I have to stop now?”

She let out a long, frustrated sigh. “Because we’re not kids anymore, Blayze. We’re adults, and I would prefer to be called Georgiana. And I was embarrassed and confused when we got caught by our fathers, let me remind you. You’re the one who went out and fucked some other girl, whom you knew didn’t like me!”

“What?” I asked in confusion.

“Then you made it very clear how you truly felt about me by making sure I saw how many other girls you flirted and made out with. You were only using me to get into my pants.”

I gripped the steering wheel tighter. “First of all, I admit it was a shitty thing for me to do. Lindsay, the flirting, all of it. But if you think I only wanted to fuck you, then you never really knew me. I meant what I said to you.”

I could feel her eyes on me. “Why did you?”

“Why did I what?” I snapped out.

“Run off and sleep with another girl that very same day?”

“Male pride, maybe? What you said to me? The fact that you thought I was a mistake? I really wanted you, and not for the reasons you think. I am sorry, though, that I put you in that situation. I really thought our dads had left the ranch that day.”

She looked away to stare out the window.

“It was a pretty good kiss, and I didn’t regret any of it, Blayze. I’m sorry I hurt you.”

We remained in silence for a few minutes. “Did you know you were the first guy to kiss me?” she asked.

Turning to her, I smiled. “You told me I was.”

She nodded and let out the cutest fucking giggle. “I forgot. I had no idea what to do, and I was so nervous. But you made it so easy to want to be with you. I didn’t come back because I was hurt and a bit embarrassed. I was confused. I guess we both hurt one another.”

I reached for her hand and gave it a squeeze. “I didn’t regret any of it, Georgie.”

She rolled her eyes and sighed. “You’re going to keep calling me that, aren’t you?”

“It’s all I’ve ever known.”

After letting go of her hand, we drove in silence for a bit before I asked, “Are you still riding?”

“Not as much as I’d like to. My job keeps me pretty busy with traveling. I just went to Paris for an article for Vogue.”

“My dad mentioned that. Congratulations. I always knew you loved sports stuff. It’s a strange combo.”

She laughed. “I guess I’m still trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. Freelance makes it easy. Dad said that getting this article printed in Sports Monthly will open a lot more doors when it comes to interviewing sports legends.”

“And that’s what you want?” I asked.

She shrugged. “I mean, I’ve always enjoyed sports, bull riding especially. I thought I wanted to write about, but the more I do in fashion the more I feel like I’m more drawn to it.” She smiled soflty. “I think I do the sports thing to make my father happy. I don’t know. I work more on the fashion side though. It’s my true passion.”

“Let me forewarn you now: my sister Morgan is going to college for fashion.”

She grinned. “Your dad told me that last night.

“Well, she’s going to be on you like a fly on shit.”

It was nice we were making polite small talk, but it was time to get to the heart of things.

“So tell me, why is your magazine interested in me? I get wanting to interview my father, but why me?”

She cleared her throat before she began to speak. “Well, it shouldn’t be a surprise to you that your family is well known in the PBR world.”

I nodded. “And that’s reason enough to interview all of us?”

“Yes. I mean, they want the focus of the piece on Brock and your uncles, but you’re popular among the PBF family as well.”

“Why me, though? Why not Hunter or Bradly?”

When she didn’t answer right away, I turned to see her chewing on her lip.

“Spill it, Georgie…er…Georgiana.”

She let out a long, dramatic sigh. “Whether you want to believe this or not, people are enthralled by your decision not to follow in your dad’s footsteps. They want to know why.”

I let out a disbelieving laugh. “Why?”

“Well, from the research I started doing on the plane, you’re good at bull riding. Really good. So that makes people wonder why you’re not interested in a career in it. You’re also popular among both men and women. For different reasons, of course. I’ll ask Brock and your uncles questions first, but I’d love to interview your older cousins. Just a little bit.”
