“H-Holy crap!” shouts Jeremy—earning him a stunned look from everyone at hearing his first words in months, Layna most of all, who slaps a hand over her mouth.
The woman’s strange eyes fall upon Kyle, and finally Kaleb. A fondness enters them, her lips spreading into a warm smile. “Ah, so lovely it is to see your faces again. Tell me, Kyle, how is your long life? Have you made friends who slay your foes yet? Or only the foes who slay your friends? I’m happy we are reunited, but I’m afraid we have a problem. See, I have recently suffered a rather unspeakable vision that spells the end of every life here. Including my own.
