I want to slap him. Cry. Wish I could do this forever and ever. I can’t fight it off any longer. He bends down, and his mouth clamps around my nipple. When his teeth bite down, my nervous system short-circuits. “Fuck!” I cry out as my body spasms around him.

He doesn’t take pity on my quivering thighs. His fingers dig into my skin, and he takes over. Through my fog, I watch as my tits bounce up and down, causing my sex to spasm a second time.

“Shit,” he grunts. Before I pass out from overloaded pleasure, I feel him expanding, and warmth explodes inside me.

Thank God he’s so strong. I finally give out and almost fall backward. His arms wrap around me, and he tucks me against his chest. “Jesus, I don’t know which is better, hate sex or truce sex.”

His chest rumbles, brushing against my breasts. “I’ll take ’em both. Hell, truce sex may now be my favorite kind of sex.” Feeling his heart beating against mine, I pull my head from his chest and look down at him. His cheeks are flushed, his lips swollen.

“Ben?” I say his name, but this time, it feels different.

“Uh-oh, is this where you tell me this was a mistake again and try to kick me out?”

I stifle a laugh. “Nah, I’ll tell you that after I’m done using you some more.”

He chuckles and grips my neck, bringing me back down for a hot, quick kiss. “I’ll let you use me. Just one rule. No cuffs.”

For the first time, I feel guilty about the stunt I pulled. “Ben—”

“Unless I get to cuff you. And call you sister.”

I slap his chest. “Whatever. Just, before we go any further, I wanted to tell you, since we didn’t, uh. . . use a condom. I’m on the pill, so no need to worry about accidentally knocking me up with any little demon Ben Juniors.” It feels silly to say. I’m not this careless. Normally, I would have no need for protection. It was only when I found out Chris was cheating that I got checked and put myself on the pill. The last thing I wanted was to get pregnant and trapped with an unfaithful man.

Ben palms my cheek, his thumb grazing across my bottom lip. “First off, you’d have to earn a demon Ben Junior. Those are a hot commodity. Second, thanks for telling me. Because now—”

I squeal as he flips me back against the couch. “Now there’s nothing to keep us from doing all those nasty things you had in mind. And knowing what I already know, I bet I have a fun night in store for me, right, sis?”

Fuck him. Fuck me. Fuck us all. Because that smile. . . it means so much and nothing good.

If I thought I couldn’t catch my breath before, I was wrong. I’m dying.

“Shit.”

“Maybe this was a bad idea,” I wheeze out.

“How so?” he pants.

“I think we’re going to kill each other. And not in the way I originally assumed.” Ben chuckles as we lay next to one another on the floor. The house is a wreck. Well, it was always a wreck, but now, it’s trashed. Couch pillows are all over the place. The coffee table is somewhere. I accidentally knocked the frames off the mantel when he had me pressed up against it.

Ben brushes his hand over his bare chest. “I have to say. I’ve done some extensive workouts, but this may take the cake.” Tell me about it. I’m pretty sure it’s going to take me a week to walk, let alone feel my legs. Ben lifts his body to lay on his side. He gazes down at me. “So, I gotta ask. Are we doing something we shouldn’t be?”

“What do you mean?” I ask, confused by his question. Then it hits me. “Oh, with Jenny. I know. She’s going to be—”

“Not talkin’ about her, Fischer. Which is not the last name I remember you having. Are we overstepping boundaries here?”

He thinks I’m married. “Fischer’s my married name.”

I stare up, gauging his reaction. He doesn’t say anything, but frown lines mar his features. “Fuck.” He falls to his back, wiping his hands down his face. “Mak, I’m not about breaking up a—”

“Was my married name. I’m not married anymore. You can chill out.” I sit up and search for my shirt or pants or anything so I can quit whatever this bullshit is we started. It pisses me off that he would think I would do something like that. Be that person.

“Where are you going?”

“I’m leaving. Well, you are.”

His lips thin. He gets up with me, searching for his pants. I find his ugly jersey and throw it at him. He barely catches it. “Why? ’Cause I asked you a question? A very reasonable question.”
