“Okay.” She shrugged and went about pulling off and washing all the liquor bottle jiggers.

“You want some help?” Furi asked.

“No, sweets. But you can keep me company,” she smiled.

“Alright. I got time.”

“Where’s that hot man of yours?” she winked.

“He’ll be home late. Got held up at work so I’ll meet him at his place.”

“You should be there in bed, naked, waiting for him.” She peeked over her shoulder.

Furi pulled the key Syn had given him out of his pocket before he left so he could let himself in to his apartment. He twirled the small handcuffs keychain around his finger, the thought of handcuffs making Furi’s cock throb. Damn he was horny as fuck now. “He probably won’t be in before it’s time for me to go to the shop tomorrow,” Furi grumbled. Ahhh. The life of loving a police Sergeant.

“You guys sure got serious fast. I can tell you really like him,” Cindy crooned.

Furi smiled, suddenly feeling real light-headed. “I love him,” he slurred. ‘Love’ ended up sounding like ‘wuuub’ and Cindy laughed.

“You better get on over there sweetheart and take you a couple Tylenol before he gets in.”

“Maybe you’re right.” Furi held his forehead as he fumbled off the stool almost knocking it over. “Man dat last dink tweally racked a punch, Cindy.”

“What?” she giggled. “You’re not making any sense, Furi. I couldn't even make out what that was. Go home and sleep it off. Your dick isn’t going to work with all that alcohol in you.”

All that alcohol. But I only had, one, two– “Jeeez Louise.” Furi’s tongue felt thick and heavy. He stumbled towards the door and barreled through it almost face planting into the concrete before he heard Cindy yell "Good night."

“Uh, yeah. Nite.” Furi wasn’t sure if he only said that in his mind or out loud. He looked around him. Everything looked distorted and disfigured. He could see Syn’s building across the street. He knew it was Syn’s building but it looked miles away. The streetlights blinded him and he went to take a step forward and his knees buckled. Fuck. I’ve never been this drunk. Furi stood there with his hands on his knees trying not to drop and lie down right there on the sidewalk. It felt like he was high as kite, like he’d just finished snorting a line. Drugs. My drink. The thought had just registered in his hazy mind when he heard the scariest voice imaginable behind him.

“Looks like you could use a little help, darlin.”

No. No. No. Please. Furi tried to reach for his cell but his hands felt like they weighed a hundred pounds each.

A strong hand wrapped around his bicep, squeezing him in a punishing grip. Another hand was digging in his back pocket.

“You won’t be needing this.” Furi heard his phone shatter on the concrete.

It felt like everything was moving in slow motion. He was aware of what was happening, but was too weak to do anything about it.

“Get him across the street Bren,” his ex-husband ordered. “Imagine how your little bastard Sergeant will feel when he comes home and finds your brutally beaten and mutilated body in his bed,” Patrick snarled in his ear.

Furi felt like he was going to throw up. The beaten and mutilated did sound horrific, but the thought of Syn finding him like that was unimaginable.

Next thing he knew he was practically being dragged across the street. The few people on the street at that time of morning likely didn’t pay much attention to what they must have thought was just another drunk, because no one called out to them.

“Pat please don’t do this,” Furi mumbled as he was pulled through the hall to the elevator. He wasn’t even sure if he was speaking his thoughts or if they were only tumbling around in his mind. He tried to speak again but his body was thrown viciously into the elevator. He crumbled to the dirty floor like a sack of potatoes. He struggled to sit up but it felt like there was a huge weight on him. He slowly brought his hand to his chest realizing there was a huge boot keeping him pinned to the floor. Furi tried to open his heavy eyelids wider. He could just make out the angry frown on his brother-in-law's face and it scared it him to death. He really was going to die tonight.

“Which apartment number did she say it was?” Patrick asked and then a woman answered right back.

“It’s apartment 805.” The woman said. Furi dragged his head up and saw Patrick with his cell to his lips talking through the speaker. Who is that he’s talking to?

“Where are they now?” Patrick asked.

“They’re just pulling into the precinct. I’ll keep you posted.”

Please don’t be talking about Syn.”

Brenden was digging through Furi’s pockets and pulled out the small keychain there. As soon as the door was opened he was shoved so hard that he flew across the coffee table, landing with a hard thud in front of the couch. Furi groaned and struggled to gain some leverage to pull himself up on the furniture.
