She shook her head. “I’m only here because I saw the lights when I escaped the house. You saw which way I came from. I ran straight to the lights.”

“We’ve already backtracked you,” Brick confirmed. “This was the only place anywhere close. We had cameras all over the area since it’s just outside our compound grounds and the only other structure in the area not owned by us.”

“I found where they brought in you and two other women.” Wylde, usually the fun loving one always ready with a grin, was as serious as I’d ever seen him. “Found where they carried the bodies of the other two women out.”

“I sent Walker and Cyrus in to scout out the place.” Sting continued. “So far, everything you’ve told us, we’ve been able to corroborate with video and physical evidence. I’ll know more when the boys get back from the property. I just need to know your story, Nyla. How did you end up with Milo and what was your function?”

She shivered and hunched in on herself. When she spoke, it was nearly a whisper. “I was a whore. He gave me to friends or associates. I was told what those men wanted and was expected to entertain them as they wanted me to. I also gathered information on everyone I slept with. That was my primary job, though the men he gave me to didn’t realize it. That was part of the job. To not be noticed or looked at as a threat.”

“How did you end up here?” Sting directed the flow of the narrative to get the information he was most concerned with.

“I--I overheard a conversation with Milo and a guy I was given to for the night. I don’t know the guy’s name, but he went by Dom. Milo mentioned another man named Claw, but I never saw him. I had no idea what they were talking about at first, but then I realized they were planning an auction. Of little girls and boys.” Her voice broke and she bit back a sob. “There was a girl about twelve or thirteen in the room with them. She was naked but for her underwear, and Milo was about to make her take that off, too. I must have made a sound because both men turned to look straight at me.” She swiped her hand under her nose as a tear tracked down her cheek. The longer she spoke, the paler she got. She seemed to be having a visceral reaction to the story and, honestly, I couldn’t blame her. I felt much the same way. Worse, I thought I knew who this Dom and Claw were.

“Milo was furious. He dragged me into the room by my hair before calling in his guards. He gave me to them for the night. Told them they didn’t have to be gentle. The next day, he brought me here. I don’t even know where ‘here’ is. I was hurt worse than I’d ever been and couldn’t concentrate on my surroundings even though he put me in his limo to bring me here. I thought it odd that he’d bring such a flashy car, but I was in so much pain, I couldn’t really hold on to rational thought.” She sobbed out the confession. “The guys he set to guard me -- Mick and Caleb -- were under instructions not to kill me, but anything else was on the table. The other two girls came a week later. They were there for Mick and Caleb to show me how bad it could get if I talked.”

“Why not just kill you?” Sting asked bluntly. I wanted to throttle the younger man but settled for shooting him an annoyed look. My protective instincts were kicking in when I was never protective over a woman. I respected women. Was always careful of them as much as I could be physically. I was a surly, mean bastard on most days, but I kept to myself with the exception of being with my brothers. I still preferred to be alone. Which is why I often went hunting with Walker. Now that he had Blossom in his life, I tried not to rely on him so much. The brothers never let me go into the woods alone for extended periods of time because it never ended well. Though I felt better while I was out there, when they forced me back to civilization it was worse than when I left.

She shrugged. “I’m good at my job. He doesn’t have anyone else who can get the information I can. There are women who are very good and one guy even better than me, but men aren’t as useful as women, and I could get into places he couldn’t.”

Mars, the club’s Road Captain, shifted where he stood. “That good in the sack, huh?” His remark was said in a sneer, like he wasn’t buying her story.
