Chapter Six

Gloria

Yep. I don’t like Peter at all. In fact, I despise him and wish he’d been the Delaney whose death I heard about. He’s a creep and a half. His wife is an absolute doll and I hate that she’s with such a sleazeball. His eyes roam over everything that walks with a pussy between the thighs like he’s the fucking king off all he sees. Cormack doesn’t end him because he doesn’t want to take over or he’d kill him himself, especially when he said it’s a pity I picked the wrong brother while licking his lips.

“I can’t even,” I mutter, shaking my head as I glare at my fiancé’s lousy asshole brother who has more power than he should.

“Your family’s here,” Cormack says, kissing my cheek and bringing me back to a cheerful place. “Peter, please behave like a respectable human being for a change.”

“I’ll do what I please in my own home.” When my family comes in, I rush into my father’s arms, wanting him to know that I don’t want problems.

He smiles down at me. “I’ve missed you, princess.”

“I’ve missed you too. I’ve missed all of you.” I go around hugging my mother and sister who smile brightly when our faces meet. They had their seconds to admire my man while I greeted my father. “Let me introduce you to my Cormack.” I lead them halfway as Cormack comes to my side. “Mother, Father, Aria, this is Cormack Delaney. Cormack, this is my mother, Ignacia, my father Anthony and my little sister, Aria.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet all of you.” Dad gives him a look of total bullshit, so Cormack adds. “Even you, sir.” Hearing a cough behind us, Cormack stiffens his back. “I’d like you to meet my family. This is my brother Peter, and his wife is at present resting.”

“It’s a true pleasure to meet all of you. Gloria didn’t mention that the good looks run in the family.” Not in yours.

“Well, thankfully I have a long time before this one is ready to leave me.”

“Can we talk about wedding stuff yet?” my mother says.

“Yes, please. Mom brought so much stuff just in case we needed it. I kid you not. I don’t think we have any clothes for more than a day that aren’t wedding wear.” She rolls her eyes.

“Yes, my love, please take them to our suite.”

“Boss,” a voice comes from behind us. “I have a call from the distributor,” one of Peter’s men says.

“Please excuse me. Welcome to the Delaney estate,” Peter says, excusing himself from our presence which I can’t complain about.

“Let’s have a drink and talk,” my father says.

“Please behave,” my mother warns them.

“Always.”

I give my father a side eye, knowing that’s complete bullshit.

“Anthony,” my mother adds her warning glare.

“I swear.” He makes a cross on his chest. Cormack laughs and shakes his head. “Laugh now but wait until she has you by the balls.”

“Go on, ladies,” Cormack says after stealing another kiss and a pat on the ass. I’m sure that pleases my father.

I roll my eyes and say with a bit of sass, “We’ll need their bags brought up.”

“Yes, love.” I smile and then lead my mother and sister to our suite.

“So what have you planned so far?” my sister asks.

“Better yet, where did you find him? He’s handsome and bold.”

“She stalked him,” Aria says, laughing as she bounces onto the sofa of our private wing.

I slap her arm. “You brat.”

Rubbing the spot, she acts completely innocent. “What? It’s the truth. Does he know that you were practically panting over him from a distance?”

“Yes, he knows.”

“Well, I don’t know. Dish.” My mother drags me down to the chair and sits next to me.

“I saw his image on TV and then I decided I had to try and run into him. It took two days to get from London to Dublin with the details on where I could possibly find him. We met, he pursued, and I surrendered.”

“That’s wonderful.” A minute later there’s a knock at our door and it’s our luggage.

“Thank you,” I tell John, one of Cormack’s men who I happen to like.

“Now that we have these, let’s get started.” Rubbing her hands together, my mother goes into action and I feel the trouble coming. It’s going to be a busy pre-wedding day.

Chapter Seven

Cormack

I turn to Shamus and whisper, “Stay with them.”

“Yes, sir.” My men are extremely loyal to me and my ambitions because it’s beneficial for all of us.

As soon as they all leave and it’s just me and her father, he leans in and asks, “Are you worried we’re going to kidnap her?”

I shake my head, knowing exactly who he’s talking about. “No. Even though this was once my home, it now belongs to my brother and let’s just say, I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him especially with the opposite sex.”
